Last time I looked the chest was not sacrosanct….Parker from the swans did a similar thing to Birchall a few years back.Only got him in the chest.
Got nothing but a free kick against.

He jumps that way. Its how he balances himself. Allot of players do.Yet its the same rule with bumping etc .
If you choose to use whatever means to protect your space and you then hit the opposition in the head, you must accept the consequences.
Would you say the same if he held a clenched fist out at a player running towards him? A studded boot if anything is worse.
Then he needs to change the way he jumps....He jumps that way. Its how he balances himself. Allot of players do.
If he was standing on the ground and put his leg out like that i would say ban him.
He is jumping straight up eyes on the ball going for a contested possession.

Not sure if you've ever jumped "straight up" before, but it's usually easier to keep your balance if both legs are under your body, rather than having one leg horizontal. He jumps that way. Its how he balances himself. Allot of players do.

Most sensible post here.Eyes are irrelevant for careless act to the head. If an elbow is careless, studs up and high can't be less so.
If you are going to fend off and protect space by raising an arm, elbow, knee or boot and cause injury to a players head it has to be treated similarly, (and Studs up high is more dangerous than an arm or elbow) so if it is careless and high, all that is then left to consider is the force of impact? If it's medium he is looking at 2 weeks.

I'd be interested to see some biomechanics showing that a leg in the position would stabilise a vertical leap, a shift like that is more likely to take away height and leave you unstable.Usually

Obviously Toby's centre of gravity is a metre beside the rest of his body, unlike the majority of the population. He must be so unlucky that the direction his leg naturally goes when he jumps just happened to line up with the only opponent within kicking distance. Funnily, I've seen him jump straight up at other times with both legs beneath himself when there were no opponents around. Not sure what to make of that.Usually

Ok new rule, if you're relying on and incident as precedent in the AFL, where interpretations change weekly, the said incident must have occurred within 10 years of your club being in existence.yep and both marks.
The only options in the entire realm of possibility given we can all agree it's high contact are:2 weeks. As we saw with Grundy you have a duty of care. Possibly 3 with his record.
Lol..don't you mean "anything it takes"
Why he brings his foot up so high, I don't know. It clearly wasn't part of the catching motion. Just WTF is he doing with his leg like that? It's quite reckless, there's no way that Dalhaus can protect himself in that situation. Greene probably needs a few weeks.

this is hands down the most idiotic thread i've read on BF.
there is no such thing as protecting "your space" with your leg in the air in a kicking type motion.
why? because you have the potential to kick someone in the head you moron.
don't get me wrong, this wasn't overly vicious by any means but the head is sacrosant and he essentially kicked a player in the head in a ridiculosusly stupid and wreckless way.
3 weeks
fwiw around 2:00 you can see him do a similar motion with his leg taking a mark
Still see this being decided on whether or not MRP/tribunal deem his leg positioning 'reasonable' under the circumstances of competing for a ball above his head.

For a guy whose name is Substance you really have none.I see you still haven't read the rules I told you to since you are still posting examples of marking contests.
I know being a gws supporter makes you either a turncoat or new to the game, so you are obsiously the latter. You should educate yourself about what kind of contact is allowed and what is prohibited.
Not a single example of this incident happening before has been posted in this thread.

I think I should report you for Substance abuse.
