I'm glad I now have a full film/tv medal dais for wielders of war hammers.

My rankings are as follows, and subject to change pending Gendry's performance in the upcoming scrap north of the wall:

1. Thorgrim from Conan The Barbarian

2. Ajax from Troy.

3. Gendry

Robert Baratheon being the most famous of them all.

You're missing someone as well.

Littlefinger you magnificent bastard

https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywoo...ansa-letter-arya-season-7-episode-5-eastwatch

The note was the one Sansa was forced to write by Cersei in season 1;

But yeah, as others have said, not sure he completely grasps who he's messing with. Potential there if Arya offs him to impersonate him for a bit too, could be pivotal with his command of the knights of the vale.

He is an awesome character. To paraphrase Sting's barman/narrator from Lock, Stock, he has all 10 fingers and toes in every bent, stolen and dirty pie in all of Westeros.

Did we ever see him wield it? My memory is hazy from his living years.

Probably not, but that's what hes famous for, crushing Rhaegars chest through his breastplate.

Refer to my edited post, clear #1, and I love the original Conan.

Yeah true, I thought about Braveheart but could only remember his claymore, and the mace he used to smash Mornay's face to smithereens

He used a claw hammer as well in one of the main fights

The Littlefinger side story is boring. No one cares.

I care!

Jon is the King of the North and has thousands of men and he is going out there with 10 men. Its not like he can sneak up on them. They are all zombies. Hell it was only going to be 5 before they ran into the others in prison. Even if he wants to send a party why is he going? Is this the stupidest plot the show has ever done?

Long shot for sure but he probably thinks he has a better chance with a small group and some stealth. Sending a bigger contingent all but guarantees a battle in which everyone dies.

oh and Jamie and Bronn not only being able to swim to shore but being able to swim far enough away from the battle that they arent easily noticed is ridiculous.

Story necessitates Jamie gets away so he can meet Tyrion to set up the rest of the season but yeah agreed, bit silly. Can't think of another way they could have gotten clear of the battle though.

oh and if arya was planning on sneaking around why wouldnt she do it as a different face? is that because it ruins whatever dull plot they have with Littlefinger.

Needs to kill someone to do that. She probably figures that kinda sacrifice is worth it to wipe out the Freys, not so much for a bit of spying.

Dany is ending up with Friendzone. I cant believe you guys cant see that. It is so obvious.

No way known Jorah is coming back , it's 1 of the oldest tropes there is.

You're not very good at this

Yep, he dies in the Lannisters vs Targs big battle whenever that happens imo.

rather then sacrificing Jon and Friendzone and wasting months going up there why doesnt Dany just fly up there with a dragon and get one of the dragons to pick up a zombie and fly off. Saves months of time and would be the far far easiest way to get her proof.

Yep that's a point, assuming the dragons are capable of being trained to play fetch. Not sure if they have many tricks other than burninating.

Jaime and Bronn not being captured is basically indefensible and absurd.

Just a guess on my behalf, but the writers maybe thought it was less absurd than them being captured and Dany letting them go (so Jamie can take Tyrion's message to Cersei and set up the rest of the season with the apparent truce until the white walkers are dealt with)

We don't see him use it in the TV show, but we might eventually see it if they decide to show what happened to Rhaegar after he married Lyanna.

Like you said Pykie, he uses it in the Battle of the Trident during Robert's Rebellion to kill Rhaegar Targaryen.

Rightwing Americans are going to go nuts if the two main characters are basically cousins and get together.

Leftwing Amercians will go nuts if the main young female character ends up with a forty plus year old man.

However I just dont see the point of Jorah anymore unless the latter story comes true. He has already been the hero and saved her from certain death. The only point left is love. Dany and Jon are like Luke and Leia.

Did you miss the last episode. That battle wont happen now. Cersei is going to pretend to go along with the plan to stop the Whitwalkers and then will try and do something to kill Dany and it will backfire and she will die. There is no big battle with the Lannisters and the Targs now. It is over.

last point on arya is fair enough.

But the other points not so much. Just because it doesnt help the plot they want to have is not excusable for an ridiculous plot hole. You cant just have ridiculous absurd things happen because it would ruin your narrative otherwise. In this case, however, it wouldnt of even ruined the narrative. Catelin Stark let Jamie go before to help her cause. No reason Dany couldnt now given they want a truce with Cersei and she has no real beef with Jamie unlike the Starks. It actually would of prevented another plot hole of Tyrion and Davos just rowing up to Kings landing with no one noticing there boat. Its a time of war and they dont have the Kings guard or military partolling the waters right outside the castle? seriously? The notion of a hidden cove right in front of the castle is silly.

And on Jon why does Jon have to go. He has a responsibility to the Northern people to help them prepare for war. He is now their king. Why would he send himself. It made sense why he should go to meet Dany. But to lead this suicide mission just cos he has seen them before doesnt really pass the mustard as an even slightly valid reason. All he did is fight them and got lucky cos he had the right sword. Its not like he can negotiate with them or knows how to sneak around them. Also not sure how you can even use stealth with zombies. Its not like they can sneak into their camp and pretend to be zombies?

Its a show. I dont get why you insist the story of what happens needs to be any different.

Go write your own books or show.
so if you like some of the show you must like all of it regardless of how good it is? Does it not matter what happens in the last eight episodes now you will love it regardless? The show was basically mocking itself this episode. It was great in the last two episodes but this wasnt even trying to be serious with the plot. This episode basically was a big finger to the fans.
