Someone made a great point in that Martin given his personality will likely not Coach or do the Media thing after Football so the (reported) extra 1.2 odd Million could really hold more importance than the average Footballer. It seems he wants to stay at Richmond, however maybe the money draw will be too much. Hopefully those close to him tell him about being in an environment he knows and shown he can thrive in keeps him at Tigerland. Also someone should let him know if he retires a one Club Player having won a Brownlow and (possible) a Premiership at Richmond. Shiattt, he would need to worry about cash ever again.

There's the other things as well if he left.
He's an introvert, which means he would have to start all over again with friendships. He'd be the club's (the league's) biggest paid players and the pressure to perform would be immense. He would also get tagged every week in North's weak midfield. He'd bear the brunt of taking up so much salary cap space, that his new 'mates' are every chance to get shafted on their new deals. He'd be expected to do his fair share of media, which he doesn't enjoy.
And also, there's the added disappointment of having to play under Brad Scott.
