Ox > Wijnaldum

Your evaluation of players is Danny Mills like
Wijnaldum is the epitome of meh. He's tidy enough but he doesn't really do anything. He looks better than he is at Liverpool because he can link up with that front 3, otherwise he's just kind of there.

Doesn't really do anything except scored more goals from midfield last season than Ox has in the past 5 seasons

Never gets outmuscled on the ball, works hard defensively and keeps possession well, with big goals in him.

If he plays for Spurs you'd be creaming your pants off about him, plays for Liverpool and you sink the boot in

If the likes of Henderson and Wijnaldum are as bad as top 6 club fans go on about, then I wonder why their superior midfielders kept getting outplayed by them last season when they played Liverpool

Interesting. He can still score goals and he offers something different and a lot of experience. I wouldn't be against him as a back up for Kane at all.

With Swansea missing out on Bony i think this one is dead for both of us.

I am so confused right now. Getting troll'd that Ox will be Liverpool's best midfielder whilst also getting troll'd that we just paid a ridiculous amounts for a hack.

Nah. When we were linked with from Newcastle at the same time as you wasn't interested at all.

As I said, he looks better because he has that front 3 in front of him. Otherwise he's just an ok 6/10 footballer. In any case, you're not spending 40m and 100k+ in wages for a player to be depth.

#Ruthless.

I'm not a huge ox fan, but if conte and klopp want him obviously he's quality

Yes, the front 3 that made him look better by having him providing assists to that very same front 3.....? You literally make no sense

A 6/10 footballer does not have a 1/3 goal record throughout his career, in his time in the premier league he's scored more than twice the goals than Ox has ever scored in 7 seasons for his whole top flight life. To say Ox is better than him is just cognitive dissonance to the extreme

It's somewhere in between.

So you think if he was passing to the likes of Janssen, Sissoko and Wellbeck he'd have the same number of assists? Of course the front 3 make him look better than he is. He only had 5 assists in his season at Newcastle (with the likes of Sissoko).

As I said he's ok, but he's definitely not exceptional and should have his place under threat by a 40m pound, 100k+ a week new CM.

Lol Spurs,CFC and manure fans on here.
I can feel your fear from all your salty posts, you know we are coming hard.

#LFCDestiny

Woah, I've been nothing but nice.

He has a good goalscoring record because he's played most of his career as an attacking mid/winger when he was at PSV/Newcastle, so he obviously has goalsense.

I would say he offers more than Henderson due to his versatility and goalsense and is probably similar to Lallana who also was an attacking mid previously.

Seems many attacking mids who know how to press get converted into central mids at Liverpool, I just wonder if they had a powerhouse box to box/holding type sitting behind their attack minded mids and properly shielding the back 4 then would that complete them?

I'd be in tears too if my club was spending 40 million on the Ox.

Before the transfer window Faith specifically said LFC will buy all their targets and be title contenders. If their transfer targets were actually a former once-failed Premier League footballer and a current current-failed Premier League footballer. The biggest LOL goes to Liverpool.

I love when people put "Player we just bought" > "Player we currently have who isn't very good to begin with".

If that's not proving someone's point, I don't know what is.

Sounds ridiculous but personally I don't think it weakens us. We have been trying to shuffle our defence around to fit Ox in to the detriment of the team which can stop now and we can finally play our new LWB at LWB and Bellerin in his preferred position at RWB, along with 3 actual CBs at CB. Also have Reiss Nelson coming through as Bellerin's backup RB who looks like a huge prospect.

Our squad is overfull and we had to get rid of a few players, Ox wouldn't have been first on my list but to get 40m quid for a squad player is a pretty good result for us.
Is Wenger turning Reiss Nelson into a FB now? FMD

Except Spurs doesn't play with Janssen Sissoko and the likes in you front 4, you have Kane and Alli, two of the best in the league. Then can I spin it around and say they're making Eriksen look good? (whom btw I rate very highly)

You can have your opinion about Wijnaldum but to put Ox ahead of him while spinning your reasons about why Wijnaldum is average is just double standards. Ox has played with some of the best attacking players in the league in his time and his end product is Jordan Ibe like, can never nailed down a position except at one where he doesn't wanna play at

Have you guys bid on him?
Koeman as of two days ago said no one had. So I suspect not.
Let's be real, £35m is only just shy of our record signing, doubt we spend it on a bench option that's absent for most of our CL campaign.

I know... What does Spurs have to do with it anyway? He definitely wouldn't get a game with us, either in CM or behind Kane.

Anyway, whatever. This discussion is taking the thread off topic. The whole Ox > Wijnaldum thing was a bit of a wind up thing anyway, they're probably about equal, but it was used to show that you're not paying 40m and 100k+ in wages for a depth player. He'll be competing with Wijnaldum and the others for a CM starting berth and it wouldn't surprise me if he was to replace them.

You brought up Spurs players as examples of why Wijnaldum is being made to look good yet you're now wondering why I'm bringing up Spurs... smh

If he wouldn't get a game for you, Poch wouldn't have tried to buy him last season just for him to turn you down and come to us now, eh. Worked out for the best, Wij turned you down, you bought Sissoko instead who wouldn't even get a game ahead of Grujic here

Cool, so you're just a troll, duly noted and ignored.

Reckon Barklay has shown more than Ox though, 35m overs for both.

Apparently we bid yesterday(£25m) after Ox knocked us back.

Will be interesting to see who blinks first in the next 18 hours.
