I'd like to think that any Carlton player who tried to hold the club to ransom like this would be politely shown the door and thanked for his services. The player that does this clearly feels that he is a cut above the rest of the team.

The problem with playing it out in the media as North has, is that you're just setting up your supporter base for disappointment.

Having to release a statement because a player re-signed with their current club, really? Telling future targets they're plan B or C? It's coming across all very amateurish.

Be interesting to see what he says now with a 7 year deal at 26 years of age.

On form, Dusty is a cut above the rest of the competition.

Doesn't matter how much you love your workplace, if your career is on a timer and someone offers you an extra $400k per year for 7 years - you'd give it some serious thought. At the end of the day, he's taken $200k less per year to stay at Richmond. Hardly holding the club to ransom.

Completely agree. These days the idea of working for a company till you get your gold watch is way gone. Footy is infinitely more finite. Statistically, atm by age 42 the average person has had 12 jobs.

Dusty (more likely his management), is doing what top tier employees do in this day and age, put yourself out there, shop yourself around and make the best decision for you.

They've gone mental over there. Will be glorious if he stays at GWS or goes elsewhere, even if it's not us.
