So many great moments from the 2012 Grand Final:

- Jetta/Rioli on the wing
- Hannebery courageous mark
- Buddy from 60 near the boundary
- Malceski sealer
- Goodes on one leg to put the Swans in front in the last

Don't forget Kieren Jack's equaliser. Millions of punters were scratching their heads thinking "Oh no, not again". Goodesy playing out the game on one leg was courageous.

Leon Baker at the start of the last quarter. 1984 GF
I have this perverse need to watch the highlights of the last quarter of the 84 GF even though it is my most painful memory as a Hawthorn fan. What Baker did in that last quarter is something I dreamt of doing as a kid. Now I'm an adult I dream of the same thing happening in reverse!

Baker was a massive player - totally underrated and critical to Essendon for a couple of years.

The Hodge intercept goal was great too:

Joel Corey probably wishes it doesnt get mentioned...but Hayes' complete 1st term of the 2009 Grand Final was an inside midfield clinic.

Lewis Jetta's full highlight reel of magnificent run and carry moments spaced over 3 different finals in 2012. Chasing down Dangerfield in Adelaide, the "3rd gear" run with Nathan Brown chasing him where he seemed to cover HB to FF with just 3 bounces, and the ump riding shotgun next to him...plus the well worn Jetta/Rioli GF carry from BP to HFF. Beautiful control...a dozen bounces over the series at some serious pace.

1977 GF replay. Phil Manassa tries to lift the pies in the last quarter with a brilliant goal. Has about 6 bounces and runs about 70 metres, all other players are spent and cannot keep up with him. Fantastic individual effort near the end of the game.

Leon Davis 2002 vs Lions. Never seen a campaigner be a magician in a grand final and perform a disappearing act.

I went to that game. Was thinking about this 2 days ago. The vindication and satisfaction that one feels when people doubt you and knock you, but at the end it's you who is standing a winner and saying

Stick that up your ass you ****ing campaigners! You don't know shit. I told you!

Was it Harmes knocking the ball back into play Carlton v Collingwood 1970, good decision, even greater result.
Still laugh every time I see it.

They had to send Bartel to Lenny after the first quarter.

Jimmy got the chocolates.

Nahhh. Winners are grinners and that influences our memories a bit.
Hayes was so completely and utterly off the chain Bomber was faced with a massive decision at qtr time that turned out to be possibly the greatest coaching move so far this century.
Do you risk trying to tag Hayes with a lesser player ? or do you sacrifice the reigning brownlow medallists' influence on the game just to tag another ?

It was Thompson that got the chocolates for making that tough decision...and Bartel was good enough to run Hayes around and they both ended up having little influence on the game.
As it turned out a master move coz Hayes had already made Joel Corey look for a hole to hide in (no easy feat), and if Bomber put a lesser guy on Hayes it could have been a big margin by halftime.
Reckon he learnt from that brilliant mid season game between the two clubs where Hayes and Bartel were equal BOG.

As a one on one midfield matchup, Hayes v Bartel 2009 in those 2 games was an epic draw. At least Hayes got that 1st qtr in though before they were both forced to mind each other.

Not something u see everyday...sacrificing a reigning Brownlow medallist to go off on a tagging job.

That move won a flag no doubt about it. Brilliant GF.
