AFL to be available on Apple TV in 4k HDR in 2018 ?

Watching this mornings Apple launch event , a slide popped up that was shown during the launch of Apples new 4K HDR , with a Hawks v Adelaide AFL match as one of the thumbnails.

Is the AFL about to announce a partnership with Apple TV to broadcast in HDR going forward ?

This is what I was also thinking

Apple must have shown AFL for a reason

They also showed how the new augmented reality addition to the iPhone , will be able to be , when your in your stadium seat at a baseball match , and view the stats of any player shown in real time on the field right in front of you.

Could that be a new addition to AFL matches ?

Highly, highly doubtful the AFL will be shown in any real capacity on any platform outside Foxtel.

Australian TV networks literally just signed a $2.5 billion deal to make sure they had the rights to pretty much any live viewing of the AFL. How many people are going to pay for their Foxtel packages when they can get the game at 4K HDR using a VPN instead of crap HD (not even Full HD half the time)...

Streaming rights are sold seperatley.

The question you ask is foxtels problem. Across the board with all their content. They are a dying industry.

But if you're watching sport, it's to do with Motion-flow and I've heard that 4K is actually 120HZ, not 200 claimed by manufacturer.
It's all fine watching slow panning snow-capped mountains of Alaska at JB hi-fi, ask them to put on a sporting event and see their response. I would be doing a lot of research if your into sport before laying out 5 G on a tv.

As well as* motion, yep. Most TVs are automatically set to display those crisp images, but you can change most TVs settings as well. I'd say when 4k becomes fit for the average consumer, most TVs will have the option to be displayed at 120.
