I wonder what his motivations are... Going to Melbourne and getting involved in the media maybe comes into it, a pay rise, fair enough. Because let's be honest he can't be chasing success if he goes to Carlton.

Dunno,.. from my observation from the few tv /media appearances he has had in the past..He doesn't come across as a person with natural talent to be gifted for the media..To be brutally honest.. A dead rock mullet had more animation.

Crows will want a pick before 20 for a contracted player who was just best on ground in a Prelim.

Well then hopefully we walk away and have another crack when he's uncontracted. Another thing that was obvious last night is how to build a list. The Crows wouldn't trade a top pick for an average small forward.

Thankfully you're not the list manager.. guy who kicks 5 goals in a prelim why would the bottom side want him!

Of course he'd make our side but at what price? We can't trade for footballers who's value is at their peak. Cameron contracted is at his peak.

Also one game doesn't make a big difference. 6 goals in his last 12 games and then playing a blinder doesn't totally erase that.

It does if the blinder is a cut throat prelim.

Every now and then clubs need to pay a premium, we are no different to every other club in the competition. And they are all guilty of it on occasions.
We just need to have faith in the powers that be to make the right decisions, I now do!

You have to pay overs in these situations. I really rate him. Last night he wasn't just kicking goals, he was great in the midfield too.

This, Cameron has been very poor this season (especially in the second half of the year).

Played brilliantly last night, an absolute blinder. By far the best game I have seen him play. Still no way is worth Pick 18. If we had a guy that played 1 blinder every 13 games, our supporters on here would be going nuts. I say trade for him yes, but wait one year until he's out of contract and give him a good financial offer. To be honest, unless we pay him a premium why would he come to us? He can play in front of 50,000 in Adelaide, with a great side. Here he can play in front of 15 000, with a young, developing side.

Was there best player when they lost to swans last year in the finals. Was very good early in the season and then went through a bad patch - funny enough about when the speculation started. I want him now not in 12 months when he might have won one or two premierships and is just coming for a pay day.

Also remember we have huge majority of our list coming off contract in 2019. We have another very poor year in 2018 and these guys will be start looking else where, we need start getting wins and getting decent players into the club.

If we lose Rockliff and replace him with another draft pick we'd be taking what is already the youngest team in the comp by a ways and making it even younger.

FORMER Brisbane captain Tom Rockliff has been offered a contract by Carlton, according to Fox Sports News’ Jake Niall.

Carlton and Port Adelaide are among the clubs linked to the free agent — and Niall confirmed the Blues were “definitely interested” in securing Rockliff’s services.

“I believe they’ve actually made him an offer of sorts,” Niall said on Fox Sports News’ AFL Tonight.

Not sure what "of sorts" means.

Rocky for Cameron would not be a good outcome.

A verbal offer?

Bingo. Then listen to everyone on here next year when we can't win games say we should have kept Rocky and we should have got Cameron. Thankfully I am confident Fagan and Noble know what they are doing.

Unless that pick is used to bring in a mature player ...

Or.. we we keep the pick ...and take a delisted young experienced midfielder.. the likes of Brandon Jack..through FA

Will be interesting to see how Noble and co approach this.

If Rocky does decide to leave, the absolute bare minimum you would want back would be Cameron AND a pick that gets us points for Ballenden (Rocky gets pick 18, which goes to Crows for Cameron and a pick in return).

I am very much in the keep Rocky unless we get a seriously good offer camp, and I would hate to see us get younger again next year.

I suppose the mitigating factor is that Rocky's body seems to be showing signs of wear and tear now, but I still think he brings a lot to the table.

One things for sure we definitely need to change up our midfield mix, it's not working. If we can get Miles and Cameron and run Cameron through the midfield in stints we would be a much better team.

However it's a marketplace and one is out of contract and one isn't. Sometimes just gotta take what you can get.

I still think he's doing a Hinckley and playing the market to get his offer up, and he'll stay.

Just gotta take what you can get? I'm not sure that's a good motto for a recruiting team.

We have no leverage at all.

Rockliff stays, good. Still my preferred option. He wants to go, not much we can do. We get end of round 1, that's pretty much it. Then what we do with the pick is up to us. What are the options?
