From Callum Twomey

Not bad considering he only played just over three quarters

JAIDYN Stephenson has finished his under-18 season in brilliant fashion by having a best-afield performance in the NAB AFL All Stars clash at the MCG on Saturday.
In the curtain-raiser to the Richmond and Adelaide premiership decider, Stephenson kicked three goals from 22 disposals to lead Team Harvey to a 55-point win over Team Enright.
The teams in the exhibition game were named after North Melbourne champion Brent Harvey and Geelong great Corey Enright.
It was Stephenson's day, though, with the Eastern Ranges product producing a scintillating display through the midfield and in attack in the 17.8 (110) to 8.7 (55) victory.

Definitely looks like the tarranto of last year. Will probably rip up the combine and go at 2 or 3.

Rayner and LDU certainly look a lot silkier but Stephenson is a chance to win the 20 meter TT at the combine so who knows where he will go

Stole this of the drafts board posted by a * fan.........

"Imagine finishing on the bottom next year and getting one of King, Lukosius, Rankine aswell as Thomas that would fast track your rise back up the ladder. At Simpkin from last year and potentially Stephenson this year and the team is then full of exciting/matchwinning talent".

I'll be back in five minutes

And not only does the above excite supporters as you said earlier NN, but how attractive does it make the club with regards to luring elite young talent from other clubs at the end of the 2019 season?

The buzz is building with Stephenson. Won't get past us.
wont get to us....
im not fussed either way, we will get one of the top 4 players available. they fall away pretty quick after that.

I would of went with Tarranto or McLuggage if I had number 1 pick last year. Both will be better than McGrath. McLuggage will have such a strong core in a few years and will run through lines and Tarranto has skills and great marking abilities. McGrath is just an accumulator. I am happy with Clarke on the cheap.

Sure beats finishing ninth mate and missing all but TT who we'd pay full price for. And yes we'd have cash and class , maybe even enough to lure Kelly home.

Stephenson is doing what Taranto did last year, what Oliver did the year before him, Cockatoo the year before that, Bontempelli the year before that, O'Rourke the year before that, Sidebottom in 2008, etc etc.

Great performances late in the year which push them up the order. The difference this year is that we have a pick that's so high that we're still guaranteed to get a great young player.

There's a huge chance that it will be one of Dow, Rayner, Davies-Uniacke or Stephenson. All of those fit a need for us. All of those look like they'll be successful AFL footballers. All of them look like they wouldn't be out of place having their names called at #1.

If it's Stephenson, we have arguably the most talented footballer in the draft, with upside to burn, lightning pace and outside ability. I think he'll be the best footballer from the draft and if he is there at 4, then we would be stupid not to pick him.

If it's Rayner, we have who was the consensus #1 pick up until about a month ago. Dustin Martin clone. Big powerful footballer who only needs to build a tank to become a terrific AFL-level player.

If it's Dow, we have an inside-outside pure midfielder with speed and elusiveness, great hands and decision-making ability.

If it's Davies-Uniacke, we have a Bontempelli clone who will start in the backline and move his way to the midfield. Perfect height for a modern midfielder, decision-making elite. Will set up brilliantly from the backline and make us a better football team.

We can't really lose. No matter what happens we'll have a choice of one of those four, which is genuinely as close to a no-lose situation as you can get.

Not a problem

That means we get Dow, LDU or Rayner
Works for me. I'd prefer those 3.

Speaking of. King Corey do you remember what rayner's big footy account was? I thought it was you that found him after he'd made 8 posts about rayner. Like a bat signal any time someone questioned his endurance.
