What worries me is GC are likely to finish bottom this year so losing him next year for nothing in the PSD may not be an idle threat

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm fairly certain that, if anything, Weller would be a restricted free agent next year if he doesn't resign, meaning we'd most likely do a sign & trade with GC, or match GC's offer and then on trade him. I would guarantee that he will not be going in the PSD.

Reading elsewhere on news site that Ablett trade may not work without Weller trade. Anyone got more idea about this? If so, you would think AFL would be 'nudging' the Weller trade to happen I would think to accommodate two storylines at those respective clubs (not that they have ever given a sh1t about ours)

Not sure who he thinks he is but I think he needs to reminded that he is a contracted player, Freo gave him a solid opportunity. Yes, understand he is supposedly home$ick and wants to go home but to say things like "Freo would be silly not take the offer" has absolutely nothing to do with him. The Club is greater than any single player and Freo will be doing what's best for them not him.
