and then come back again if anyone #7 and under becomes a superstar. I actually think he'd be a great fit for Collingwood. They have like 1 tall on their entire list.

It really is an easy kill for anyone with an axe to grind, it's lose-lose-lose-win.
Lose - someone else taken after him turns into a star
Lose - don't take him and he turns into a star
Lose - take him and he is serviceable but players taken after him have arguably better performances or are better suited to what we need in five years time etc

My mind changes hourly and TBH it’s gotten to the point where I don’t care because whatever two players we pick, we’ll be getting two very, very good/elite boys of the class of 2017 and hopefully go on to play 200+ games in purple.

Clearly Vic bias, WA did well in the championships therefore they have lots of better players who are being overlooked because of the bias media influencing our well-payed, professional recruiters to overlooking local talent (and jeopardizing their career) in order to appease the average supporter. /s

Michael Johnson was taken on the psd. That year the National Draft at pick 5 was a midfielder Brock McLean.

I know who'd I rather pick. Mids always dominate the draft and not all top 5 mids turn out to be A grade players.

Its not a mock draft, just a ranking but I do like Twomey's ratings.

Rayner + Stephenson is definitely exciting prospect. I like all of you can't make up my mind. The only think I know is I want at least 1 of the forward/mid guys. I am not even that fussy about which one. Rayner, Stevo or the Fog.

Also, can someone explain to me the idea that Naughton is a dead-set guaranteed 200 gamers of Johnno standards but most likely half the top end mids are going to be spuds?

KPP are no more immune to not making the grade, there are just less of them and more mids so there are more failures in the latter.

WA had a terrific state champs with them matching it with both Metro and Country. That wasn't achieved by a team full of average to less than average players. When we look back at this draft in 5 years I guarantee the AFL media will have over rated many players.

Nah. It’s just that Sumich is a super coach and can turn a team of spuds into a team of contenders.

Harsh on Neale, but I do agree we need more depth. We also need PLENTY of blokes who can kick goals.

Also Bennell (if fit) and possibly Blakely might fit into that category at some point.

Every year there's highly touted players who go early and don't live up to expectations. There are others that include KPB who are picked late who have far better.

I personally think it is the mids and flankers from WA that are getting underrated. WA didn't compete because Allen and Naughton were unbeatable (they were both very good mind), they competed because they had an even spread. Not an outstanding amount of top talent but good depth. Also had a few u17 guys contribute.

Think there will be a few picked later that will surprise - especially the Vic media who will act like they came out of nowhere.

This must be what West Coast saw and why they went for so many second round draft picks. I hope for our sake they’ve overrated them and it was Allen and Naughton making them look better.

I can see Naughton being.a low risk pick. He could easily be a 200 game player. If Freo don't pick him he'll slip through our fingers.

Pretty much everyone wants two mids from this draft.
