AFL sack umpiring boss Schwab

Umpiring is currently in shambles. But it's more to do with the hopelessly grey and complex rules that have to be adjudicated in a split second more than anything else.

Also the fact that umpires are not professionals yet.

STart paying them more and making this their one and only job and we will start to see good umpires.

"In that part of the ground, which was the last third of the ground, the actual bloke on the mark doesn’t have to go east-west. He can go off on a line tangent. Because of the way you line them up for goal. It’s two-thirds east-west when you are defending and when you come into your attacking third and you’re lined up with the middle of the goal, you can go on that arc."

Not Schwabby's finest moment.

Not Schwabby's finest moment.

Ron that line forces the player on the mark to move closer to goals not equidistant.

Schwab was correct. The player should be following the curve of the 50m line.

Besides if the guy with the ball moves sideways its Play on.

Tigers player Jayden Short was judged to have deliberately sent the ball out of bounds, in the Richmond forward line — a decision that ultimately handed the Western Bulldogs the win.

Harvey revealed he was shocked at the decision and felt the umpires made a significant error, one that Richmond rightfully should be angered by.

Was the free kick paid against Richmond’s Jack Riewoldt the right call?

RICHMOND suffered a heartbreaking loss at the MCG today, with a David Mundy goal after the siren sinking the Tigers.

However, should the Tigers have already been home?

Greater Western Sydney forward Jeremy Cameron stepped in to man the mark, and as Martin took the kick, his teammate Shaun Grigg attempted to shepherd the Giant away.

Cameron then moved forward on an angle to step around Grigg, smothering Martin's kick.

With no 'play on' call, some commentators were baffled by the umpire's decision not to pay a 50m penalty to Martin, as they considered Cameron had stepped over the mark.

3 poor decisions late in games that effectively cost us 12 points during our mid season slump. We should have been 2 games clear on top of the H&A ladder. I'm still so angry, even after our barnstorming charge to the premiership in the face of overwhelming odds.

I am sure we have had a word, and possibly were the catalyst for this change.

The umpiring this season was all a conspiracy against Richmond so they wouldn’t win the flag, but they were just too good.

Love your work, snake’s got no comeback to facts.
His comeback is to put you on ignore and claim you're beneath him.
Irony is he's the biggest bottom feeder on this forum.

It was discussed in detail at the time. "Play on" was not called by the umpire who is clearly visible in the first picture. Martin ran in on a slight (Franklin) arc to get extra distance as he was having a shot for goal. Cameron charged straight over the mark on a slight diagonal.

Shame, Schwabby, shame.
