But the player kicking out could evade his opponent, play on and kick from the centre quite easily considering the lack of numbers by the opposition.....maybe.The pitch is 100m long so probably not
12 matches in the day plus a grand final

They might need an offside rule. It will be interesting to see how this is structured. They may use soccer rules to govern out of play and corners perhaps.
Yellow cards anyone?
I did find that amusing. You should make a thread about it
Technically yes, but that's because they have super goals (worth 10 now) outside 40.I did hear goals can ONLY be kicked within a 40m area
Exactly! To change things up they should come up with a football game that goes for 5 straight days, 6 hours per dayIt's not footy's version of Twenty20, that's a normal game of footy.
It's similar to T20 in that they're both shortened versions with more emphasis on fast paced action and free-flowing play, and little in the way of stoppages. It's not footy's version of Twenty20, that's a normal game of footy. It's footy's version of Rugby Sevens.
Who cares about Rugby Sevens outside the Olympics or at all unless Australia medals in it?
I don't even care about it then.Who cares about Rugby Sevens outside the Olympics or at all unless Australia medals in it?
Isn’t that how it originated on a playing field about a mile long?Exactly! To change things up they should come up with a football game that goes for 5 straight days, 6 hours per day
its not really comparable to T20 at all, the changes (or compromises) are far more significant. It's similar to T20 in that they're both shortened versions with more emphasis on fast paced action and free-flowing play, and little in the way of stoppages.
It took some time for cricket fans to adjust to the new T20 format, so who knows? might do the same for footy fans given some time down the track.
Certainly I'll tune in to see how it all pans out. Interested to see who the team selects for this format.
You're looking at all the fine and major changes there are. If you look at it simply, the aim is to make it fast paced with maximal action. And hopefully more goals per given minute of game time.its not really comparable to T20 at all, the changes (or compromises) are far more significant.
the shape of the ball will just about be the only recognisable feature.
yeah, the objective is the same, but the details couldn't be more different. You're looking at all the fine and major changes there are. If you look at it simply, the aim is to make it fast paced with maximal action. And hopefully more goals per given minute of game time.

T20 is instantly recognisable as cricket, in fact to a large extent the subtitles between it and the 50 over format can only be appreciated by cricket enthusiasts. AFLX on the other hand looks set to be one of Frankenstein's monsters.
So a pre-JLT before the pre-season JLT before the seasonA fast paced tournament before the JLT series.
No injuries please.

The X is probably the Roman numeral for 10 as this version has 10 players per side? What is the purpose of AFLX?
We already have a 'shortened' format of the game in AFL 9's, what is AFLX meant to achieve.
