Who was that **** on here saying that they didn't want Aubameyang? lol

Me.

I hope all the noise around Aubameyang isn't true.

We don't need to be spending £50 million on another striker when we have so many goddamn issues elsewhere on the park.

Aubameyang will suffer the same fate as Lacazette, he'll be feeding off scraps for the entire game as our wide players are ******* shithouse. We have THE WORST wide players in the league.

We NEED better wide players. We NEED better creative players. We NEED better midfielders.

Sticking Aubameyang in our garbage team isn't going to do anything other than give us another players that is going throw his hands up in frustration every 5 minutes when our mentally disabled players don't spot his runs and pass the ball in to a wall of defenders.

£50 million on another striker just because is ******* ******ed.

And in that time we've added both Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan.

Mkhitaryan fixes one side of better wide players, Iwobi is still on the one side (although he had a good game last night)

We didn't add to the midfield and we didn't add to the defense.

Last night's game means * all, Everton were garbage in the first half.

Second half we were poor as soon as Everton actually started to get their s**t together. 8 games without a clean sheet now.

We'll see what affect it has for the rest of the season but we still have massive issues that should have been addressed.

We had too many issues to address in one window, even Helen Keller knew that. Fixing the attackers now means that we only need to fix DM/CB/GK in the proper window. If we'd fixed those this window, we wouldn't have bought any attackers and had to go for them in the main window instead.

For the rest of the season we may still ship many goals, but we should have a forward line functional enough to outscore bottom and mid table sides, even if we still struggle against the "big six". Either the attackers they wanted were available now, or we decided doing it this way was a better option than trying to get Wenger to manage a new back 5 like Mourinho and hope the midfield can snaffle a goal a game.

did say in the transfer thread that myki fits in the way you guys play football so was happy for him to play well good luck for the rest of the season and europa

It's our lack of defence that's costing us the most, we've dropped 15 points from winning positions this season.

15 points would put us soundly in second place, 4 ahead of United in 3rd. It's a disgusting stat when you think of it like that.

It's not about this season, it's about next season.

With Sanchez walking, and United having Miky to send us rather than a DM or a CB, it became a window about improving our attack, because all we really had left after Sanchez left was Giroud. Aubameyang was also available, and for whatever reason City and Chelsea weren't in for him, nor were PSG or the Spanish twins, so we got him below what his price probably would have been in a RM post-Ronaldo July window.

Now we head into the next window not needing to compete with everyone for a world class striker or additional attacking mids - not to mention we held onto Ozil - and instead can concentrate on the problems down back. Then we can pick a backup striker up if one presents himself, but not feel pressured to take whatever is there.

I mean, 56mill for Aubameyang, 57mill for Laporte, or 75mill for Virgil van Dijk, I know which buy I'd prefer.

I agree defence is more of the problem but we also scored less than the other top sides and don't have a player in double figure goals in all competitions.

Whilst I agree that the defence and central midfield are our biggest issues, having an attack that scores freely would mean those winning positions we get into would be 3-0 or 4-0 rather than 1-0 or 2-1, meaning we are less vulnerable to dropping points. For the Arsenal football administration this window was as much about saving face with the fans for selling our best player in January than actually addressing weaknesses in the team, which was highlighted by the players we brought in.

Only one away win in the League vs Tottenham since the 07/08 season, hopefully no WHL means a change in our fortunes.

Wembley does change the dynamics slightly, given our recent success there. Away form overall though this season is as poor as it’s been in a long time.
