THE GWS Giants’ injury curse has continued, with emerging midfielder Will Setterfield suffering a suspected ACL rupture in the club’s practice match against the Sydney Swans on Friday night.

Setterfield was tackled by young Swan Jordan Foote on the wing and landed awkwardly on his left knee.

I only just put him in my super coach team.

Terrible news for any player. Evidently Dale Morris has a partial tear in his ACL as well.

Dylan Shiel can't carry the midfield alone, and with Jeremy Cameron nowhere near his best up forward they've gotta rob peter to pay Paul and play Greene more up forward.

I think they are in a fair bit of strife.

Lobb is their first ruck now and hes more of a Westhoff than a first ruck.

Plus their defensive run is going to take a huge hit with those names missing down there. Could slide big time in the scores from kickouts.

You forgot about Patton up forward. He is the clunking pack marking fall forward, Cameron is the lead up guy.

They will need to play Green up forward now Johnston has retired for his off-the-pack goal sense. And Lobb is handy, but no Mumford yet.

But GWS is in trouble.

Can see them in the 8, not sure how high though.

Their backline is the real issue. It’s essentialky going to be Phil Davis, Heath Shaw and a bunch of inexperienced kids.

Lachie Keefe hasn't played footy for a while but I suspect he slots straight in given their undermanned defence.

Afl players look so shredded this time of year before putting on a bit as their training loads pull back. I was actually speaking to ports dietician the other day and I asked about body fat percentage. She said end of pre season players range from 6 to 12% body fat, then in season most players sit in that 10-12% range. She actually explained it's rather complex as to why. They keep a fat reserve so that in the event they get sick, they don't lose much muscle mass as the fat helps preserve it, its also unhealthy on hormones to stay at 6% for too long apparently, so there you go.
