Are you suggesting a GV side might be juggling players to fit under the points cap bootz?

I know of atleast 2 club this year that will be juggling in one way or another
The unfortunate thing is that clubs are folding like deck chairs, another 2 this week with DWWW and East Keilor shutting the doors!

DWWW has been struggling long before the points cap was in. I know it was struggling 20 years ago. Can not pin point that on the Cap ringo

Sad to see the Longest Club name in Victoria go into recess

I will be interested to see how many clubs go under. IMO the cap/points wont help! I acknowledge the fact that other people disagree with my point of view which is fine. I am fully supportive of the powers to be to implement something to help grassroots footy. However, it is withering on the vine at present. I hope I am proved wrong. Anyhow Im looking forward to getting along to watch Echuca V Tat tomorrow. We will know more about them both tomorrow evening. Two emerging teams!

Looking forward to your report on the match!
New centreline of Kemp,Gannon and Henderson(as per team app) should provide plenty for the Echuca side!

Looking forward to the game. Saw the Tat Boys training last night and was impressed. 2 new players having there GVFL Senior Debut and these two have been fanstastic.

I am quietly confident of Tat chances

I think Tat will really push Echuca....could go down to the wire!

Gday Ringo, mate country footy needs a lot of attention if it is to survive. Apparently it doesn't fit into the business model though..
Grass roots footy is more than Aus kick Kids between 12 & 18 just don't want to play..they disappear at about 20% or more every year.

Hey Slim....I heard Benalla All Blacks kicked 54 goals today against a scoreless Boonie Doon! What has really concerned me was an ad in the Echuca paper advertising for U/16 players yesterday.

Mate we had to pull the pin on our U18"s this year... Between us and Benalla Saints we had less than 30 kids

Saw the add.
rather concerning for a town as big as Echuca
Maybe some have followed there girl friends to Rochy

So Benalla has what 10K people in town? Yet cant get enough kids to fill two sides. Something isn't right ...perhaps it because their dreams are over by 15?

A ripper start to the season in one of the most anticipated in a few years for unpredictability!!??? Did you end up listening to the Curtain Raisers last week Ringo?

Rochy had a hit out yesterday against Strathfieldsaye

Obviously found the going tough going down by 60 points

Rochy only scored 32 points all up, so the forward line still needs some work

( I wasn’t there but that’s the talk )

Ir's only going to get worse. There are 2 U16 teams in Benalla that have 16 players each, nothing coming through.

Echuca played one good quarter and won. Tat ran out of legs. Should be fuming with that loss. #3 for Echuca can play a bit hey Ringo?

Mate I was super impressed with the standard today. Fast, quick and physical. Tats run and carry was great and the 'outside' ball was used to spread Echuca! However, the longer the game went the Tat fwd 50 entries became shallower, allowing Echuca to rebound from HBF. An injury scare for no.3 who missed 3/4's but looks like he dodged a bullet ! 3 weeks out will help him. Daniels had his boys playing a very anti-social game.

Which players stood out for both sides?

Argeed with you ringo regarding the standard. It was great game for a neutral. I am not disapointed with the Tat Boys. They played well. More positive than Negatives today for the Bulldogs.

I am more disappointed with the Standard of the Umpiring thou. I do think there were dodgy calls which did not go unnoticed on both sides.

Great Crowd at Victory Park today(pity it took a while to get from One side of Echuca to another.)

I do disagree Ringo with bulldogs playing a very anti-social game. The Team cohesion with the Bulldogs have been fantastic compared past couple of years

When I say anti-social I meant that they were tough to play against....bumper bars on opponents and tackled with intent...loved seeing it.
