Odd. Cole finally gets his spot back after having some unfortunate news on the eve of the season.

So what happens if he comes out with a cracking game? Does he keep his spot over Jetta next week? (not likely)

Perhaps they are building up to a potential Nelson axing and are giving Cole a week to make Nelsons spot his next week.

Jetta's been crucial to way we've player this year. He and Hurn out of the back line have driven a lot of our fwd play. Shouldn't matter too much for tomorrow (touchwood) though. I'd have preferred Watson in, that's a lot of pace out of the side now.

On a sidenote, didnt a few journos say Jetta didn't even fly over yesterday? If so, what's the point of naming him?

It depends on what rile they want Tom to play when he comes in. Will he be a straight swap with Jetts or will he get It the Nelson role with Nelson or Shep to step into the Jetts role?

If Nelson has a reasonable rebounding game in that role he would have to hold his spot I think.

I wouldn't have said this last year but losing Jetta is a big loss. He has setup so many goals for us this year.
And our big slow defense in Barrass, Mcgovern and Hurn, needs his pace to help defend against the oppositions quick small forwards and mids.
Jetta going down back, was a great move by the eagles.

Good to see another rookie come in. Even if I wish it was Watson or Petrucelle.

You don’t need to physically match someone to tag them. It’s just about making sure they don’t get any easy ball. Not like he’d be playing at full back against him

A height match up in the middle is overrated. A lot o the Taggers in the comp aren’t that tall anyway. The only time Cripps would get a chance to his height is in a marking contest but he Ain’t the type to spread and get a bucket load of uncontested mark around the ground. If he goes forward, then one of our defenders will pick him up.

Depends what sort of tag. If it’s a hard tag then size doesn’t matter. Hutch has tagged some big bodied mods in his time. Cripps is a beast but to be honest when it comes to Power and strength, he ain’t a shit tone stronger than the likes of danger and etc.

I still don't think Nelson has been as bad as i keep reading.

Once again, i think the disposal numbers and the fact he hasn't been 'noticed' automatically means he's played a bad game.

Off the top of my head i can remember 2 efforts he put in last week which straight up saved goals. Running down Lachie Weller (no small feat) was one, the other was when Lynch totally outdid Barrass with a good contested mark, walked off his line to snap a goal from 10m out and Nelson smothered it.

And of course, he was straight in there looking like a Lesbian to fly the flag after Lecras hit on Ainsworth.
