Changes v Port Power est 1997

If it's a midfielder position Poholke is the best choice of the 3 as he has the highest chance of being a long term midfielder. Murphy is a small forward or bust and Wilson is much less likely to make it then Poholke.

I also disagree, Myles is excellent overhead (some of the marks (and a non mark) he took against Sydney were excellent), and he wouldn't be the first, nor the last to have a putrid game early on in his career whilst adjusting to the change in game speed/trying to hard to impress.

Give him time, and you'll be pleasantly surprised with this kid.
Yeah, it’s a bit harsh judging him in what was just his second game at AFL level.. even if it was against a crap side... he was good against Sydney, better than gooch in that game imo. Gooch didn’t do a lot against Sydney until the last quarter when he looked bloody great. Poholke played well the entire 4 quarters in Sydney game.

Murphy spent the entire pre-season training as a small forward. So in Pyke terms, that probably means he's locked in that position all year unfortunately. So unless Betts or Gallucci are out, he's in the SANFL.

Pretty much, he is simply too small to play any other role. If you thought size was limiting for Knight, it's crippling for Murphy.

And that was pretty much the entire reason he went undrafted I believe. Still, we had nothing to lose giving him a shot, the fact he made the AFL side is a credit to him. I still think he could have a decent career as a small forward for us going forward because his will to improve and work his butt off is obviously very high.

Tbh he can't possibly play as poorly as against gold coast. Hopefully goes some way toward redeeming himself this week.

Would have gone Murphy all else being equal, but poholke has some size, good speed and a decent mark at least. Physical as well. Probably the most similar player to Knight we have availiable.

Not to make excuses for him, but I think he was one in particular who looked really impacted by being 2 down on the interchange bench. Running into the 4th quarter he couldn't muster more than a jog at one point when going for the ball.

Pohokle is bigger heavier and quicker than Knight
But yea plays with the same aggression as Knight , Probably a better match against Port that some think

Knight managed still?

Shenanigans....

Gone from being a so-called emergency who could have played if really required to no longer an emergency.

I have lost my trust in anything from the club on the injury status of our players.

Doesn't give us any advantage over the opposition, so don't understand why they bother with these shenanigans.

So knight did have a hammy....cant believe a word coming out of westlakes.
So what? Big deal.

I don't care that Crows play their cards close to their chest.

In this caper, any advantage however slight, in oppo lack of intel on the Crows is a good thing. Why should the AFC have to tell anyone anything?

I do care that it's another hammy, if that has been confirmed, but the club has been addressing the hammy issue at the same time we've been lamenting it. Just because they weren't telling the world doesn't mean the AFC was ignoring the problem, nor does it mean it was trying to 'save face' by keeping quiet on hammies, which is a ridiculous notion to begin with.

Wingard did not injure his hammy.

Apparently he farted during the Kangaroos match and immediately clutched his hammy.

To be fair, Chad said “It was a ripsnorter and I felt a lot of pressure on my upper leg”.
Port players can recover from hamstring injuries within 12 days, missing 1 week of footy... whilst our hamstring awareness bar Tex have gone on for weeks...

By lying, they are only making it worse.

Best coming clean as soon as possible when you have bad news & doing something, rather than spending more energies on deflection.

It's the best way to lose credibility by deliberately being dishonest.

We deserve better!

Who cares if he's an emergency or not? If they have no plan to play him then there's no plan to play him.

Knight had 17 touches and kicked 2 goals against the Suns. He then got "managed" against Carlton and now you're trying to tell me that his current form isn't good enough to be picked. Please.

This is what Ben Hart said about Knight last week:
Hart also dismissed speculation forward Riley Knight was the latest Crows player to be riddled by the club's hamstring crisis.

"No hamstring (injury), it is purely management," Hart said.

"Players don't like to miss games by being managed, but it's in the betterment for him.

"We think he's in our best side going forward and we'd like to have him for a long time."

So the coaches clearly think he's best 22, so why isn't he picked? He's injured and we lied about it. It is as simple as that.

You can pretend that Knight's 17 possession, 2 goal game wasn't good enough and he's been dropped back to the SANFL bye to find form. Funny that Poholke had 8 possessions and zero goals from the same game, yet he's been brought back in this week though.

Being managed and named as an Emergency then misses another week

It just doesn’t add up

He could have been being managed, and then been injured at training. It happens.

The conspiracy theories here are far more entertaining to read though.

I think Knight has been kidnapped by Power supporters and the club has been held to ransom. We can't call the police or they'll start mailing the club his fingers and toes. We HAVE to lose the game this week to get him back safely. If we are beaten by that rabble this week then you know it's true ;-)

I look forward to seeing
In: Brouch, Smith, Sloane, Hartigan
Out: Otten, CEY, Polholke, McKay
Unfortunately won't be anytime soon!

Milera & Knight are handy too...

Walsh wanted an Authentic football club in the way it engaged with its members and supporters

At the moment when it comes to informing members and supporters on injury status and reports it is totally misleading

Look at Gibson’s injury, he was initially listed as 2 weeks

Gibson was reported as hamstring tightness. He must have the tightest hamstrings known to mankind to miss 2 months and still be 1-2 weeks away. His awareness levels would be at an all-time high!
