If Port can’t beat the team we’re putting out there this week, it’s going to be a long time before they do win another showdown.

Interesting selections. 2 blokes that could have added a bit of mongrel to the Showdown (Knight, Fogarty) aren't named
Pear will coming out firing, we'll need to match them physically early
It's typical Port Adelaide reactionary football.
Defenders getting outmarked? Put Westhoff in defence.
Not winning contested ball? Bring in two pure inside midfielders for outside runners
Playing a team with lots of talls? Bring in Clurey and drop a rebounding defender
Don't be sillyTold the club he's leaving?

Nah, he was better than Poholke. If he was fit he'd be playing. He's injured, probably a hamstring, and we lied and said he was managed because we didn't want to announce another hamstring injury.Conveniently there is an SANFL bye so the club can hide Knight's injury and say nothing about it.
Alternatively he was dropped.
I look forward to seeingWe are only missing Sloane, B. Crouch, Hartigan and Smith from our best team (and maybe Milera too).
Our forward line is full strength. Our defence has Otten filling in for Hartigan. Our midfield has added Gibbs and CEY since last time despite losing two players. Seedsman has stepped up a gear and Mackay is actually doing alright at half back.

They must be desperate. There aren't any hamstrings I know where you can miss 1 week and then be fit to play the next week. He looked very proppy after the Kangaroos game, so I can't see how he didn't strain it in that game.Wingard back already? That was quick, weren't they saying at least a month?
The average supporter probably doesn't, people on BF obviously take it a bit more seriously.I think the club thinks we don't notice these things and don't join the dots or put two and two together
I'd say it's from a belief that any information being leaked out as being a potential weapon the opposition can use to prepare for us. It's odd, but the "closed shop" we were once praising works both ways too.I want to know whose decision it has been for the club to lie to its supporters? Just an individual covering their arse or a collective?
They've talked of using SPP as a "pressure forward" this week. I'm guessing they're finally going to run Rockliff through the midfield, but someone has to make way for him.Hopefully they play Rockliff as a forward and leave the center square work to Wines, Ebert and SPP. Will be quite easy to win contested ball with that setup and both CEY and Greenwood playing good football.

It was a big divide last week on here. Those that believed he'd been managed after just 2 games because "he'd run 16km per game" and those that thought he'd done a hammy and the club was lying.I think the club thinks we don't notice these things and don't join the dots or put two and two together
Betts only missed 2 games with his issue. So if it was minor, they probably thought they could get away with it due to no SANFL this week. But its a dumb lie because it takes a minimum of 3 weeks. So no way we can cover that up. Sloanes "foot" on the other hand should give them just enough time to heal any hamstring awareness that he might coincidentally have as well![]()
Or maybe they just don't view his current form as being good enough to be in the 22?It was a big divide last week on here. Those that believed he'd been managed after just 2 games because "he'd run 16km per game" and those that thought he'd done a hammy and the club was lying.
You don't miss 2 games in a row if you're being managed.

Would have preferred either of those two as well. Poholke tried, but still has a bit of work to do on his game before he's ready I think. In the case of someone like Wilson, let's get him in there now when we have a chance and see if he's worth persisting with for another year on the rookie list. Not really sure what Poholke brings to the team, if it’s a case of last man standing would of preferred Murphy or Wilson. Myles is an ok mark & put’s his head over the ball but that’s it, he’s poorly skilled and moves a bit like a crab, his game against the Suns was putrid.
Could easily just be a sign that we might have finally learned a bit of a lesson about exposing some younger players to games, rather than trying to parade out the same 22 blokes every week no matter how well they are playing.I thought he could have easily been politely dropped last week, but no way he is behind Dylan.
