lol - Warwick Parklands is questioning Izac Rankine's discipline in The Fertilizer today. If it was anyone else writing it I'd say he's hoping that Rankine will slip down the draft to where a certain SA team could nab him, but knowing the Parklands parochialism, he's probably hoping Izac doesn't get drafted at all and can stay in the strongest competition outside the AFL :D

The Crows Soft Power ( media arm) stretches far and wide. Scumbags.

Shaun Burgoyne's 350th this week just quietly.

Huge effort, hope he puts in a BOG performance against the crers Saturday night :D
I kinda hope he does nothing til the last 5 minutes when he turns it on in a come from behind victory to break Crows hearts.

Extra points if in the last play he streaks away from CEY, breaks a Mackay tackle, then a Ratkins tackle to kick the winning goal. In the background Walker does a hammy kicking the ground.

I think our next 11 features 3 top 8 sides, if were any chance of finishing top 2 we defiantly need to win all 7 of those you mentioned above and have results in a few other games to work in our favour....
And 3 in GWS, Crows and Essendon who are still challenging for the eight. Although Essendon may be out of it when they play us, they're already hanging on by a thread and they have Eagles, North and Collingwood for their next three games.

This times a billion. Without getting too far ahead of ourselves our next 7 rounds look like this:

Dogs home
Melbourne home
Carlton away
Saints home
Freo away
GWS home
Dogs Ballarat.

I dare say we start favourite in every single one of those games. We need to absolutely make this part of our draw count, because if you look at the fixture, you have:
Sydney's next 4 games. West Coast, Richmond, Geelong, North.

West Coast play Sydney, Adelaide and Collingwood all away over the next 5 weeks.

Richmond's next 4 is Geelong, Sydney at Etihad, Adelaide and GWS away.

Melbourne has Port, Geelong and the Crows all away in their next 6.

Geelong has Richmond, Sydney away, Crows away, Melbourne in the next 6 rounds.

So many games against fellow top 4 aspirants or tough road games.

We make the most of this 7 week period, and we'll be entrenched in the top 4. But your know....Ports.
I'm still a bit worried because what we need now is momentum, which we haven't been able to build yet. For that reason the Dogs game is probably only 60-40 in my mind at the Demons game 50-50. Sure, the Dees have struggled against top 8 teams this year but they'll be fresh off the bye and breathing fire to have a "statement" win this year to really kick-start them into finals.

Having said that if we win both of the next two we'll be looking very bloody good indeed. I'd say a "realistic best-case scenario" for the next two weeks would be a 40 something point win over the Dogs and a 15 odd point win over the Demons. That should give us enough momentum to finally bank some big wins against Carlton and the Saints for the percentage booster.

According to some Brett Eddy "sold out" by joining the AFL and we "stole him".

"Physically, Cyril is in great condition, and potentially could have played for us in the coming weeks. However, we acknowledge his desire to be with family.
Am I the only one who thinks this bit is bullshit, with the smart money being on him having added some folds for the skin fold test whilst away?

It's a sound strategy. It's well known that all the best AFL recruiters religiously read Fartland's articles to inform themselves.

Well I keep hearing people say the game is turning into netball so....

Teams winning rate after the bye week is 44.6% I think I read somewhere, the freshener myth isn’t substantiated and would point to our favour!

Was listening to Whateley on SEN this morning and kept listening to Maher's segement, which i usually turn off but he had Glenn Luff from champion data on and David King so listened as Luff always produces some interesting stats and stuff.

But it was Maher who brought up the most interesting stat. About 70% of the way in they started talking about the Gold Coast. Maher was his bash the Suns agenda just like the Monday footy media did yesterday. This year was always going to be unfair and tough for the suns. To play home your first game in Rd 11 would screw up any team. Imagine a WA team have to play their first 9 games on the road or Collingwood 9 games on the road would kill them.

But Maher made a good point that the Suns cant retain their players. He gave these stats;

2010-11 54 players recruited 46 have left or been delisted 8 still on the list
2012...... 9 players recruited 7 have left or been delisted 2 still on the list
2013-14 10 players recruited 5 have left or been delisted 5 still on the list
2015...... 9 players recruited 4 have left or been delisted 5 still on the list

So that is 82 players in those 6 drafts and 62 out over 8 drafts.

I looked on draftguru and in 2016 and 2017 in both years they traded in 5 players and drafted 7 for another 24 players on their list.

Ok they did start with 46 players + 6 rookies = 52 and had to get that down to 44 by 2015, so that's 8 more that had be delisted than the 16 established sides but that is a massive turnover.

They didnt give the numbers for the GWS but they aren't as bad given they actually have had less than 44 on the list for the last 2 years, but have had 2 and 3 CAT B players to take it up to 44.

Dogs home

Dogs Ballarat.

I agree that this is a great next 7 rounds to have lined up.

I don't think we start favourite against the Dees though. They play Adelaide Oval very well, and match up well against us, generally beating us pretty convincingly when they don't have to play us in the outback/Darwin. I don't rule us out, but I'm not writing that one in as one I expect us to win.

Dockers could be a trickier match than we think too - they have had half a season to get used to Optus, we've had one game there and no pre-match run. If Fyfe is back it's a danger game - one I expect to win.

Finally GWS and the Dogs in Ballarat could be tougher than expected depending on how each side progresses over the next month and a half.

Regardless, we can drop 2 of these and be at 12 - 6 which would still be very good.

Also just returned from a temp ban because one of the AFC mods had a cry over a non-offensive post on their board.

Not that I give a shit, but it's really incredible that their supporters are even more piss weak than their players - a culture of pure arrogance and sooking when anything doesn't go your way. Just an absolutely pathetic outfit top to bottom.

It really is a sandbox that's not worth playing in, just sit back and watch them all throw their toys out and eat those mysterious brown nuggets the dog left in there.

Yeah I would have thought a little harmless banter could have been enjoyable. I generally engage with anybody that comes in here from other sides as long as they aren't being openly offensive or ignorant.

You're talking about a group that cries over the fact Port has two people who support us in the media in this state who sometimes say something negative about the Crows. They don't play well with others, hell they don't play well with each other, Crows supporters had to start "The Pride" because the "Crows Supporters Group" weren't very inclusive of others, and had physical altercations at games.

If they're having a good year (or if Port have screwed up) then you get the occasional person who will engage in a bit of banter, but other than that they all want to live in their little 5AA powered bubble where everything the Crows do is awesome and Port suck.

You posted their team AFLX premiership photo in the middle of a melt down! What did u expect?

It was hilarious by the way. Did enjoy.

Oh typical. The Hawks had a secret run last weekend with some new AfL rules being trialed by the AFL. As if that club needs a heads up with the new rules before any other cllub hears of them.

They already seem to be playing by a different set of rules, why not add a few more?

Clarko probably suggested the new rules to suit his playing group. After all his chairman has declared they will be winning many more Premierships in the near future

Yeah I thought one good thing leaving Adelaide was not having to put up with crows w***ers but little did I know there is a carbon copy awaiting me in Perth ...... The West Coast Crows!
This may be hard to believe but they have managed to get there heads even more stuck up there behinds than there Southern cousins.
