Changes vs Los Bombres

Depends a lot on us rocking up to play though. Are we capable of backing up from the week before? We should of smashed them in Rd 2 (if not for junk time) - win was all about the discipline on the quick transition to defence just like we did with Port last week. Block their ability to attack from defence and they struggle.

I'm most looking forward to Banfield casually strolling over to Zerrett before the bounce and getting reacquainted with a "Hi".

The Bombers we beat are not the same ones rolling out now. That said, this is exactly the sort of game they are prone to not showing up for so I think we are a chance. Their best is definitely better than ours (with who is missing).

We apply the pressure we did against Port and we'll be right in this.

Reckon we'll struggle simply because it's away. With who we've got on the park scoring is a massive problem and expecting an attacking Essendon side to not hit 80/90 points at home is probably hoping for too much.

Essendon give up points too. Consult last year at Etihad. We were scoring woefully and almost tonned up against them.

Possibly. Although if you take out their win against North in Rd 15 (125 - 108) their last 5 scores at home are 72, 67, 84, 43, 62. They've only scored over 100 twice this season. Even we've done it 3 times :)

I think they should be favourites but if we bring that pressure again it's a lot closer than the odds are suggesting.

That can't be right, Ross Lyon hates scoring.

Essendon's forward line isn't great, they will (like us) rely on midfield pressure and scoring. Pearce and Hamling will easily account for anyone down there not to mention Ryan/Wilson/Hill running it out.

We have the same issues going forward however if we can park a tall in the square and make Hurley accountable I like our chances of scoring. Banfield is going to have to nullify Heppell and I like Langdon going head to head with Merrett.

So only Sandi, Fyfe, SHill, Blakely and Brayshaw out of our midfield. Bodes well.

That's not that bad

If Darcy and or Sandi are in, then I think we’re a massive chance.

If not then we’ll have to use Jones as a ruck and bring in Meeks or Nads or go shorter. All three of those are poor options IMHO.

Not the thread for it, but it was a pretty diplomatic response to the rule changes by Ross as well. Doesn't seemed to be all that pertubed by them.

Time to chuck Crowden back in.
I thoroughly endorse this product or service.

The post above paraphrasing Ross' PC says Darcy is playing. It will be Jones and Sean.

He is like that with everything. Worry about what you can control. The only coaches that need worry are those who can't adapt. Guess we'll finally find out whether or not he has other strings to his bow.

To be fair their last 5 at their actual home of Marvel/Etihad are 99, 83, 106, 72 and 125 so they seem to play that ground a fair bit better than the MCG but I take your point.

Will just be a question of which Essendon turn up. The rubbish they dished out early season against us/Carlton or their recent form over the last 8 weeks which bar the game against Richmond has been pretty impressive.

Correct. Will also depend which Freo turns up, the one vs Melb or the one vs Port.

Stephen hill really needs a injury free preseason just hasn't been able to get going this year. Hasn't looked 100% all year.

At 28 i hope his best footy is still in front of him. Though its a minor concern with a lot of soft tissue injuries.

I hope he can return to his best at his best he can be the x-factor we need to climb into the 8 next year as he has done in the past.
