Grigg is a better ruckperson than Campbell.

Aaron Hall anyone?
Can you please make it Touk Miller?
The guy is averaging 34 hit outs and almost 2 contested marks in the VFL. Has ability forward of centre as well, so is a good depth ruckman. Only reason he doesn't get a game is because Bevo clearly hates him.Somehow you seem to be enamoured by a VFL ruck that cant beat out a 20 year old with the physique of a broomstick and a guy they recruited to play in the backline.
That being said, then i wouldnt be trading anything.
OOC this year and could easily pick him up as a DFA if the reason he isnt playing is because Beveridge has an axe to grind against him. No chance they would give a new deal then amd his currency is not existent.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not but will assume you are. That's the only logical explanation

Clearly that is the case....The guy is averaging 34 hit outs and almost 2 contested marks in the VFL. Has ability forward of centre as well, so is a good depth ruckman. Only reason he doesn't get a game is because Bevo clearly hates him.
Boyd and Roughead are averaging 17 and 14 hit outs a game respectively. Both are averaging 11 disposals and 2 and 3 marks respectively. Boyd is a key forward who's mobility is about as good as Campbell's yet they insist on playing him as their #1 ruck. It's absurd to suggest it's personal. Beveridge has shown a preference of playing mobile ruckman his whole time at the Dogs. He played Ayce Cordy over Will Minson .
If he isn't good enough, what was the point of keeping him on the list at all then? I'm not suggesting he's a world beater but seriously, he's putting up good numbers in the VFL you'd feel aggrieved.Clearly that is the case....
I mean, there could be no other possible reason, like that he isnt good enough or something.
In all seriousness it could well be that he is one of those players that is too good for VFL but not consistently up to scratch (capable of an odd good game) when they take a step up. We already have a Ruck/Forward that meets that description in McKernan.
If Leuey goes then i would upgrade Draper and select another rookie ruck to develop.
All AFL clubs have players on their list that arent AFL standard for a variety of reasons. If he isn't good enough, what was the point of keeping him on the list at all then? I'm not suggesting he's a world beater but seriously, he's putting up good numbers in the VFL you'd feel aggrieved.
This is under the premise that Leuey retires, which I think he will. I still think Draper is 2 years away from being AFL standard, so I want a guy in between those years to be a back up ruck. Would have no issue if that guy was Billy Longer or Lewis Pierce or Archie Smith or Ryan Abbott who seem to be doing well at state league level. Or even drafting an unlisted mature ager (although there aren't any in the VFL this year). All AFL clubs have players on their list that arent AFL standard for a variety of reasons.
We have Green, Jerrett for goodness sake.
The point is we dont need to pick up everyone elses ala Richard Cole and Josh Green.
If Leuey doesnt retire i would much rather keep him. TBell is clearly no.1 now.
If Leuey does go and Belly gets injured i would much rather see Draper get those games as the next part of his development. If we do pick up another experienced ruck i would rather it be as a rookie and we upgrade Draper.
If Campbell is happy with that then we can have a chat. Not meant to be a dig at you but Campbell is a break in case of emergency player, not a direct back up.
For that reason I think he'll stay. Wouldn't be shocked if he were their #1 ruck next year.Seriously think we will consider Dawson Simpson as a stop-gap solution. Last 2 weeks have been outstanding for the Giants.
Hope not, only because I heard my local club were right into him last year and he was seriously considering a move to the bush before GWS gave him a nice offerSeriously think we will consider Dawson Simpson as a stop-gap solution. Last 2 weeks have been outstanding for the Giants.

Back up to the Albury/Wodonga area??Hope not, only because I heard my local club were right into him last year and he was seriously considering a move to the bush before GWS gave him a nice offer
Another sub 180cm midfielder, sure why not.Can you please make it Touk Miller?
Hi, sorry to intrude. The guy is averaging 34 hit outs and almost 2 contested marks in the VFL. Has ability forward of centre as well, so is a good depth ruckman. Only reason he doesn't get a game is because Bevo clearly hates him.
The structure that's working best for us is has been one proper ruckman (Belch or Luey), one high lead up tall (Brown or Stewart), one key forward who chops out the ruck (Daniher or McKernan) and one tall anchoring the forward line closest to goal (Hooker or Stringer, even though he's a bit of a swiss army knife).
You recruit to fit within that, and the only way I see Campbell working is if Luenberger retires, he could be the backup for Bellchambers but still not impinge on Draper too much because he plays forward better than berger does.
I actually really like the sameish replacements in the seconds thing we've got going, it means we don't have to change anything at all if someone goes out, the only thing that's probably missing is a big fat contested marking machine that we can groom to be the new forward Hooker.
Have you seen the kid play? Will be an A-grade mid within 2 years.Another sub 180cm midfielder, sure why not.
McNiece is a Rookie, not a Cat B anymore. He got promoted last year so we could play him at will without a LTI.With the landscape changing so much in the past 6 weeks, feel our list has dramatically altered moving forward.
List changes moving forward;
Out of contract;
Mark Baguley (1 year)
Mitch Brown (1 year)
Matt Dea (1 year)
Brendan Goddard (1 year)
Josh Green (delist)
Michael Hartley (downgrade to rookie list - 1 year)
Kyle Kangford (3 years)
Jayden Laverde (2 years)
Matthew Lleunberger (retire)
Jake Long (delist)
Jackson Merret (delist)
James Stewart (2 years)
Shaun McKernan (upgrade)
Ben McNeice (Cat B - retain)
Sam Draper (retain)
Trent Mynott (retain)
Luke Lavender (Cat B - retain)
We have a tendancy to downgrade players. Hartley is a perfect option to do so.
That leaves us with 4 picks to go into the draft/FA period.
Pick 8 Jackson Hately - 192cm inside leaning midfielder
Pick 31 Jack Bytel - 187cm inside leaning midfielder
Pick 62 medium sized utility
Pick 80 best available
