It's absurd to suggest it's personal. Beveridge has shown a preference of playing mobile ruckman his whole time at the Dogs. He played Ayce Cordy over Will Minson .

In all seriousness it could well be that he is one of those players that is too good for VFL but not consistently up to scratch (capable of an odd good game) when they take a step up. We already have a Ruck/Forward that meets that description in McKernan.

Boyd and Roughead are averaging 17 and 14 hit outs a game respectively. Both are averaging 11 disposals and 2 and 3 marks respectively. Boyd is a key forward who's mobility is about as good as Campbell's yet they insist on playing him as their #1 ruck.

If you were averaging 34 hit outs a game whilst two blokes are getting spanked week in week out questions should be asked of the coaching staff.

Please look at how many hitouts guys like Soldo, Preuss and saint rucks win at VFL level in some games. Without looking at the numbers i suggest VFL has even more stoppages based on some of the ridiculous hitout numbers

Just because your getting 34 hitouts innthe vfl certainly doesnt mean you should be playing AFL

Campbell if without another year on contract would be a good chance to be delisted. We wouldnt bother trading for him

This is under the premise that Leuey retires, which I think he will. I still think Draper is 2 years away from being AFL standard, so I want a guy in between those years to be a back up ruck. Would have no issue if that guy was Billy Longer or Lewis Pierce or Archie Smith or Ryan Abbott who seem to be doing well at state league level. Or even drafting an unlisted mature ager (although there aren't any in the VFL this year).

Break glass in case of emergency, sure. Don't really understand the obsession with upgrading players 2 years into their 3 year rookie stint with the rules the way they are currently either. I'm sure he'd prefer that situation compared to his current one.

Giants will keep him, He's a better ruck than Lobb, Lobb has been underwhelming for me since his 1st 18 months on the scene, Plus Rory is better forward than ruck IMO.

Not a world beater by any stretch but if you're prepared to have Tom Boyd lumber around an AFL field, why not give a bigger, stronger, harder working player a go?

Campbell is definitely serviceable. My only reluctance stems from not wanting him in Draper's way for VFL minutes in the next 18 months. The balance there is delicate and I doubt that Campbell's preference would be to play mainly forward the way Leuenberger currently is.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Campbell up at Sydney. He suits their style.

Campbell has plantar fascia. Persistent issues meaning he struggles to run out VFL games. Has been now given time off to try and get it right before the end of the season. If he can't run out a lower paced and intense VFL game, it is a fair indication as to why he isn't playing AFL, particularly when coupled with past indifferent AFL form.

You recruit to fit within that, and the only way I see Campbell working is if Luenberger retires, he could be the backup for Bellchambers but still not impinge on Draper too much because he plays forward better than berger does.

I actually really like the sameish replacements in the seconds thing we've got going, it means we don't have to change anything at all if someone goes out, the only thing that's probably missing is a big fat contested marking machine that we can groom to be the new forward Hooker.

Hookers played one half fwd and its when we didnt have Daniher, Stewart, Mckernan or Stringer.

Stringer as the 3rd is ideal. Dont want to see anytime soon the big tall 3 again ie 3 of Stewart, Daniher, Hooker, Brown in the same fwd line. Unless the game changes

McNiece is a Rookie, not a Cat B anymore. He got promoted last year so we could play him at will without a LTI.

Very open to downgrading players to open up better picks, but I'm not sure if we'll promote any of Draper, McKernan, Mynott or McNiece. As we no longer need to do so to pay them more/given them longer contracts. So there may not be any rookie spots free. That said, if we take one or two free agents or trades and only want to use 2 picks in the ND, then switching a player to the rookie list for an upgrade uses up one of our mandatory 3 main list draft/rookie upgrades (unless they changed that rule???).

I'm not sure if I'd delist Green for a pick #80. Out of our pure small forwards, he's probably next in line after the current three (Raz/Walla/Bags), and Bags could easily go backwards next year. Unless we have a strong reason to think #80 in this draft is better this year than next, I'd give him another year.

Otherwise, would generally agree although think Laverde may only get a 1 year deal. Goddard would also be at risk IMO, although the coaches still seem to like his performances.
