NATHAN Buckley has declared Jordan De Goey – and his terrible new haircut - will return against the Brisbane Lions.

De Goey, sporting a new bleached blonde mohawk-style do, has missed the past two matches as he battles a bone stress issue in his lower leg.

He appeared on light duties for the early part of today’s session before playing deep forward during match simulation, but Buckley said he was right to play.

Defender Jeremy Howe did not train today because of a corkie, but Buckley said he would be given up until the last moment to prove his fitness.

“Terrible haircut, but fit to go,” Buckley said of De Goey.

“He will be fit to play whatever role he’s asked to play. He was in pretty good form before we off loaded him two weeks ago, that was probably 50 per cent forward, 50 per cent mid and we won’t hesitate to use him in any role.

“He’s kept his fitness up off legs and we’ll just progress as normal.”

Buckley said it wasn’t Howe’s concussion that was keeping him from training.

“We’ll give him every chance, all the way up to Saturday,” he said.

“He received a cork about 10 minutes before the hit that he received in the Richmond game.

“That didn’t come up last week and still struggling through the early part of this week, but we’ll give that every chance but if he’s not fit, he doesn’t play.”

James Aish will return to the senior side after three games in the VFL.

Tyson Goldsack did not train and won’t play VFL as he is still having back issues, but Ben Reid will play VFL.

In: JDG, Howe, Aish
Out: Moore, Brown, Daicos

If Howe doesn’t come up...then McLarty slips in.

Hard to argue with that. Like the inclusions.
Moore and Brown the obvious outs... Daicos stiff but not sure who else could go out, maybe Murray or Mayne..

Would look at playing Mihochek back and DeGoey up forward. There is only 1cm difference in height.

Greenwood runs with Zorko.

B - Langdon Mihochek Madgen
HB - Maynard Howe Crisp
C - Aish Pendlebury Sidebottom
HF - Varcoe DeGoey WHE
F - Thomas Cox Stephenson
R - Grundy Adams Greenwood
INT - Sier Mayne Murray Phillips

I am talking about a back up in case Mihocek goes down ala Moore.

We need a contingency plan at Collingwood.

You can't pick the team with an expectation someone will get injured.

Been said before but a 2 week cork sounds suspicious. Cant you fix that with deep heat or something?

I thoughts Bucks said he has got up until Saturday to see if he makes it?
