Hmm, SOS now has to report to the Freo List Manager? Matthew has the knowledge that his brother is effectively SOS's boss. Interesting.

I'm going to look at this as the appointment of the son of John Lloyd, 29 game Blues defender from 1965-1967.
If he knows what's good for his career he'll be keeping on the good side of SOS.

Fasolo...Yeah right, delete the rumour its click bait. There's exactly no chance we would even rookie the spud.
Warnings/bans should be in place for rumours with no foundation, basis or posted by 15yr olds who are bored & have been cooking up cockamamie trades, draft strategies etc

Delete the rumour? Why? Because you don't like it? This is the rumours thread? Right?

really Champ? i question why recruiting players "to give them a fresh start" is poor list management & you come up with that.
You may have noticed that you generally go for players that are starved for opportunity or have had injuries early on, not a feel good story of "need a fresh start"- its all a moot point anyway Fasolo never going to happen

Fact or personal opinion? If its a fact tell us how you know this please.

No, he played 29 games for us.
The father/son rule used to be 25 games and not long before Matthew was drafted the rule was changed to 50.
this is why Matthew Lloyd hates Carlton so much, his old man only got to play 25 games and as a result he was drafted by Essendon, when he could have been a Blue. Looking at it that way, I feel a lot of sympathy for Lloyd, he could have had a reasonable career but it wasn't to be.

I wonder if SOS (and M Lloyd) knew/suspected that Brad was in the running at the time of the Footy Classified interview.

Would make the exchange between the two even more interesting. Maybe why Matty was so flustered*

Well, in any case I think I just found an excuse to watch the whole thing again!!!!

* admittedly, him being flustered is more likely to be due to his inability to think on his feet

He's considered the best operator at the club. Hard working and clever and a little bit of rat cunning.

So he's a ducker too?

I don't.

Murphy is contracted to the end of 2020. Who knows how much longer Simmo will keep going... it ain't over 'til the little grumpy old bastard calls it I reckon. Certainly in good enough form to run around again next year and as long as he doesn't get a big injury he could potentially have another one after that if form/fitness permit.

If I was to hazard a guess I'd say that Jones, Garlett and Kreuz (as long as his heart stuff is short term) will still be on the list. I reckon we could get a couple of years out of Lobbe as chief backup to MK as well.

Wright, Kerridge & Lamb are 3 that I could see having a chance to stay around, form and contract length/size permitting. Just feels like there's a chance they get another season or two as mature depth for our kids.

A lot of it will come down to the size of our list changes at this and next seasons ends. If we somehow manage to lure a FA or 2 (of whatever quality), trade for 1 or 2, take 5 or 6 in the ND then pick up rookies... well we're gonna have to lose some of the aforementioned names. However if the plan is to bring in a smaller number like 8 then some of those guys might land themselves 1 year extension.

Herald Sun today suggesting they've heard Thomas will go around 1 more time. Not sure how much truth there is to that or if they're just basing it of his stats, which are surely the best they've been since he left Collingwood.

Yes - got my years mixed up with Murphy, and Simpson playing to age 38 isn’t out of the question. I agree re Kerridge and Lamb, I think they are at the end of the list of players that may go.

My basic point is, we don’t have to give up anything significant to accommodate Fasalo.

from their board. Although SOS went as well.

Also IIRC Brad Lloyd was the only recruiter which went to the US to study Live trading. All that IP goes to Carlton and is there any record of the info gathered?

He was just following SOS's genius "It comes after Carlton list boss Stephen Silvagni and then Hawthorn list boss Graham Wright attended the NFL Draft in 2017"

All of a sudden Matthew Lloyd is in agreement with every Carlton decision, club is going places, green shoots everywhere etc.
**** Mathew Lloyd but hello Brad Lloyd a very shrewd operator, happy with this if it's true.
