Brownlow Medallist
Many seasons ago the SweetRankings debuted. For the uninitiated it was a formula that would rank each player across the competition both on field and in match threads. The idea was to reward match thread contributions and try and equalise player output based on where they were selected the field, so that players weren't disadvantaged by being named in the backline/bench. There were a number of other factors involved to try and give an impartial view of the best player across the competition from the raw data available across the board.
The original needed some changes and I had intended to bring the new version back this season - hoping for a reveal in a few weeks - however the erratic nature of the Top Contributors button (which frustratingly is back after I've committed to this) made me abandon this through lack of posting data.
As I've already entered the match data, to now, I thought I'd make use of what I had, which is a ranking solely on match performance based on the factors impacting the match aspect of the SweetRankings.
Rather than have an overall rank for everyone I've gone with a B&F format, where votes are given in a 5-4-3-2-1 manner for each game with the winner receiving the virtual SweetRankings award, the Swankie. (A combination of words and also good for the dunderheads to amuse themselves with what it sounds like)
So here are the votes.
