Evening Wazzas, another review to do so let's get into it.

After a brief winning respite the round prior we came home in round eight after losing to the Furies, where we were hosting a Wonders team who despite a revolving door to the captain's lounge seem to enjoy the rub of the simulated green, particularly against us (winning 9 of the last 13 meetings). There wasn't as much argy bargy in the match thread as in previous seasons either, which is partly due to the aforementioned leadership changes and partly due to the state of the league nowadays.

Game day then came and went before anyone noticed. A match was posted and, in a surprise to absolutely nobody, the result saw the visitors come home with a wet sail after three pretty even quarters to finish up 45 points in the black. Because who doesn't love another week of good old fashioned simhousery right?

The 11th loss in our last 13 matches sees us on the same spot on the ladder, with the only thing keeping us off the bottom is the forgetfulness of other captains.

There were a few highlights out of the game. The Filth Wizard kicked six goals which is the most this season for him while zackah (3) & Raveneyes (2) also kicked multiple goals. Quite a few players racked up touches, with FootyGuy13 (26) Purple7x08_24 (26) TubbsFarquhar (23) TheInjuryFactory (20) Piggy Smalls (19) Dinsdale (17) Ocha905 (17) Paracleet (16) Freofalcon (16) & oldmate (30) all amongst it.

You can tell just how tilted Bob is getting with all these losses with how the match recaps are getting shorter and shorter.

    Round Ten - Away vs the Gumbies

    Howdy Wazzas, we're back reviewing after a week off. We had a bye, I had a holiday, and something unexpected took place.

    It was round ten, and a trip to the House of Gumby awaited us. As you would no doubt be aware the plasticine people are the reigning premiers, thanks in no small part to the 102-point pantsing we rained down upon them the last time we visited (which also precipitated our now-familiar losing streak). They were also celebrating dual Life Membership admission of the iconic beez and the idolatrous GWS Goose so they were looking for a big week. There was whining, there was dining, and there was a Poo Jogger. Quite the trifecta!

    And then there was a game of qooty. The first quarter ended up pretty much square before a seven goal to four second term saw us take a 15 point lead to the sheds at half time. The third quarter ended up pretty much square before a four goal to three final term, when coupled with that 15 point half time lead, saw us four goals to the good at the final siren. Therefore, in an unexpected turn of events, we won a game which moved us from 12th to 11th on the ladder.

    I think this has been the only round so far where all three of the starting on-ball division remained in their starting positions for the duration of the game and it showed, as pantskyle (27 disposals/7 tackles) Ocha905 (20 disposals/1 goal/also 7 tackles) and oldmate (25 disposals/13 hitouts/1 goal/also also 7 tackles) made proverbial hay while the simulated sun shined. Others to impress were Piggy Smalls (25 disposals/9 marks), Reginald Perrin (20 disposals/5 marks/1 goal), toxic (18 disposals/6 marks), TheInjuryFactory (18 disposals/1 goal), Purple7x08_24 (14/disposals/5 marks/1 goal) & Paracleet (16 disposals/4 marks/2 tackles off the bench), while the damage up front was wreaked by zackah (4 goals), Mofra (3 goals), Snuffaluphagus (3 goals in his first run for the season) & The Filth Wizard (2 goals).

    Round Eleven - At Home vs the Royals

    As far as weeks go, that was definitely one. So here's my review of round 11, posted at an appropriate time.

    Round 11 saw us at home. We were hosting the Gold City Royals, who were also having an average season but slightly better than ours, so for all intents and purposes we should have been evenly matched. We contributed roughly the same amount to the week, although the Monarchists boasted about not one but two (2) world records - one about shirtfronting bowling pins and the other about something guts did with ping pong balls. Whatever, it was more than anyone else ever so that's something I guess.

    We then got to game day, which is now more of a fluid concept than conventionally calibrated measurement of time. You see Harry Potter told us that we would be playing a bit later than usual. It began at 10pm Vicbias time, 8pm Weag time and Monday Friday 4 morning Tonga time. That makes it four different times over four different rounds. One of those rounds was a bye but still. But we got a match posted, and it would be worth staying up late to see how we went right?

    There was a five minute period early in the first quarter in muddy conditions where we led courtesy of a The Filth Wizard goal, and a rushed behind saw us lead again until the 10.40 minute mark. The visitors then kicked five goals straight and we kicked five behinds straight. Then it got ugly, and by the time it was all over the visitors had kicked another eight goals to our three. They won by PLENTY, our final score of 4.10 was the equal second lowest in history with only a goal from spudmaster halfway through the final quarter saving us from an all-time scoring nadir. What a way to end a weekend.

    The result left us stone motherless thanks to a Babylonian victory. Even the team with an 8 point penalty for not being good at telling the time is higher. How good's qooty?
