    Round Twelve - At Home vs the Hawks

    Hey Wazzas, another week over and another round of qooty to review.

    We were still at home after the muddy horrors of round 11, hoping for better weather and the rub of the green from our favourite virtual tamagotchi. Our hosts in round 12 were the recently unbranded East Side Hawks, who have done a sterling job of both reclaiming their identity and refreshing their list. This made for a pretty enjoyable week, but then again Tarks is an enjoyable fella. We even dusted off a few of our old codgers in Frankston Rover Lord_Flashheart and Smoooothy to give them a run.

    And then before your knew it, game day crept up on us AND it was back at the traditional time slot so things were looking up. When the aforementioned tamagotchi broke the fourth wall and decided to simhouse in real life, it must have returned with its blood lust sated because we got what we hoped for in better weather and the rub of the green. I know that we traditionally do alright against the East Siders, but this game was the first one in a long time where we won all four quarter - leading by a point at quarter time, 19 points at half time, 27 points at three quarter time and saluting at the final fat lady warble to the tune of 53 points. Plus it was a mileston game with Purple7x08_24 bringing up his 50th game. This was our biggest win in over a season and was reminiscent of the highlighted round in Coney Island History (yes the winning margin was less than half of the 125 points of season 30 but it was still pretty bloody good).

    The result, coupled with losses to the Furies & Bombers, saw us climb of the bottom of the ladder and into a more comforting 11th position.

    pantskyle is in a rich vein of form, pulling out his third 100+DT point performance in the past five rounds thanks to 27 disposals, 8 tackles and 3 goals. Reginald Perrin (21 disposals/6 marks/4 tackles/3 goals) was the other to crack the ton, his first since round 2 last season. Others to do well include Piggy Smalls (25 disposals/6 marks/2 goals), Ocha905 (18 disposals/3 tackles/2 goals), spudmaster (19 disposals/2 goals) & The Filth Wizard (4 goals). Probably the first time in ages where we've had 10 individual goal scorers too!

    Coney Island Warriors 13.8 (86) were defeated by Dragons FFC 15.9 (99) at Van Cortlandt Park    ​
