First time I turned off the tv at 3/4 time in years. Just went to bed and curled up. But really well done pols , H , Byrne and Cripps is a god. Bring on the trade period . Onwards and upwards and look fwd to a better year in 19. Still love the navy blues.

Still don’t understand how people can judge structure etc with what we are putting on the park and absolutely no cohesion. What am I missing?

Because last year there was a clear direction and style and players slipped into it. We tried to be more attacking, something I asked for to, but we seemed to abandon our defensive growth from the previous year. While I concur with your sense of optimism, it felt a bit like chucking the baby out when we lost that frantic style.

While younger players and smaller bodies are mitigating factors, our zoning style is largely the most accountable factor.

This. We are decently stocked for KPD's anyway, especially if we draft one more like Collins.

Nice guy, but Rowe offers nothing offensively, turns it over regularly and makes some howlers defensively...he can never catch running talls like Jenkins and efforts like the one where he was shrugged by first gamer Himmelberg on the boundary sums it up.

Time to cut the chord...just like Casboult we should be moving past these 2 for younger players.

We are only talking as a back up for another year and he can fill several roles. Not a big issue

I don't see how Plowman fits in if we get someone like Collins to play lock down next to Marchbank and Weiters.

Because he can play on multiple types and can impact the contest with physicality.

I would like to congratulate the Carlton Cheer Squad for making me smile tonight. Its efforts in the last quarter deserve recognition. I loved the rousing rendition of ‘We are the Navy Blues’ so I joined in. I loved it when you chanted “We beat Essendon” for a couple of minutes. And the humour when we were over 100 points behind with Cam Polson lining up for goal. “Next goal wins, next goal wins”. Cam didn’t let us down.

Actually came into this thread to post something very similar. We have a great cheer squad, really showed support and love for the club no matter what. Great sense of humor. I was laughing for most of the last 10 mins or so.

I think I spent most of the last quarter monitoring crippa's contested possie stats and enjoying the cheer squad.

I'm going to be seriously ****** off if we leave another player hanging on 99 games.
He's worth keeping for 1 more year as backup.

I’m seriously pissed off we kept him long enough to reach 99 games... So it depends on your point of view. We shouldn’t be keeping players on the list an extra year so they can reach a milestone... that’s madness.

Agree, we can’t fit all our talls in the one backline, next year best backline would be:

Simmo, Jones, Marchy
Byrne, Weiters, Docherty

Willo is also in that mix, but just want him out on the park whatever! A battle b/w him and Byrne for that other hbf’er role.

Plowman, Macreadie are depth, and pretty useful depth at that. Re Plow, I think I read he played quite often as a mid in juniors, so why not try and convert him into one? Bigger body mids are what we desperately need! He can find the footy ok.

What should we do. Kick the dog. Slash our wrists?
That wont change anything. And as its the last game there is only hope for next year.
So who would you get as coach? Sack them all? Delist 20?
Or deal with the reality and keep a smile for the future? And celebrate the growth of young players and some forwards starting to show a bit.
44 more games these youth need. And we must get some that can play and already have those 44 plus games in them. That is very difficult and a snap of the fingers just wont do it.
The coach and List manager have said that repeatedly.
