The reward is too great to not play Treloar.

I also feel that even an underdone Goldsack provides better value than Madgen. I know he tries but let’s be brutally honest, he’s just a body out there.

Goldsack is taller, faster, stronger, more experienced and just better. Even coming off a knee reco.

Thoughts on getting Usher from the Bachelor in 5 mins before the game starts.. get the boys' adrenaline pumping when Usher walks into the changing rooms.. oh my god look it's Usherrrrr.. oh my God..

Guaranteed we'll start on fire re.

Really nervous about bringing in players who haven't played a game for months, no matter how good they are. And no-one in the VFL last week put their hand up (other than C. Brown and I think we have him covered).

Based on his two(?) VFL games, Goldy is very rusty, but he offers what we need in experience. He is also one of the few with finals experience, as is Reid. But he hasnt played for months either.

If the Pies can pull this off it will be one of our greatest efforts. And will give us another week's rest, which we desperately need. Some, like Richmond, might put more value on momentum at this stage of the season, but I reckon we need rest more. Interesting times.

Interesting stat on foxfooty last night..

Not sure if it was finals or games experience.. but apparently since the advent of the top 8.. teams with more experience have won 51% of the time in finals.

So if we're bringing in players based on experience.. really doesn't count for shit re.

Go with the form re!

The last one is a beauty. Contains unseen footage from anything Name A Game ever offered. Pre and Post match footage and interviews.

Enjoy!
I was at that game. Was sure Sumich would kick it. Only final that I missed that year was the rematch. Great memories.

Should Treloar get through today’s session it won’t be Sier that misses.

Going into a final the club won’t sacrifice a 10 contested possession and 6 tackle player ahead of outside types with variable impact like Mayne or Aish. They’ll want to dominate the contest and get the territorial advantage.

It’s Aish for me because I don’t believe he has the intensity of Mayne. It also looks likely that Oxley and Madgen make way for Howe and Goldsack. Should it be required I expect they’ll role Varcoe back as the 7th defender and Treloar spends more time forward.
I think Murphy will be the one to miss, not Aish

A big ground like Optus needs pace - you definitely wouldn't get rid of Sier because he's bullocking and loves a quick burst run. Mayne is slow but very defensive. Maybe Aish IS the one to go but I just feel like he has a lot going for him too with quick hands in and under and his kicking isn't too shabby either. Toss of a coin.

For me, it would be:

Goldsack in for Murphy

Howe in for Oxley

Treloar in for Aish.

I like Aish a lot, but he is similar to Mayne in style, but Mayne has runs on the board this year and the defensive game.
So Madgen stays in

To clarify these posts.

I stated in an earlier post that I think Goldy is borderline best 22 with a full list and when he's match fit.

A poster responded by saying this was bullshit.

I therefore posted what I think is our best 6 and asked where Goldy fits into it.

I was the poster that said bullshit and I do have Goldy in my best 22 starting on the bench playing a very vital swingman role.
He is super important for match ups as he can play tall, small, back, forward.
