New recruit planning for life with Gaff
Impending North Melbourne recruit Jared Polec believes he will be playing alongside Andrew Gaff at the Kangaroos next year.

AFL.com.au reported over the weekend that the Port Adelaide wingman, who looks set to join North Melbourne during the trade period this October, has informed Power teammates that Gaff will be alongside him at Arden Street in season 2019.

WHO'S LEAVING YOUR CLUB? All the latest retirements and delistings

Gaff is yet to tell West Coast of his decision on his future as a free agent, but is assessing offers of more than $1 million a season to return to his native Victoria.

North Melbourne is set for a huge off-season, with the Kangaroos also meeting with Swans defender Nic Newman and Suns midfielder Aaron Hall in recent weeks.

Lynch set to pick Tigers

Star forward Tom Lynch will announce this week he intends to join Richmond when the free agency period opens on Friday, the Herald Sun reports.

Lynch had been courted by Hawthorn and Collingwood, along with Richmond, but reports indicate he will officially nominate the Tigers as his club of choice in the coming days.

Kane needs to take his PA hat off when discussing trades.

He thinks North are being greedy asking for something back and should just let pick 10 stand on its own for Polec.

Expections is to play finals when we land Gaff, Hall, Polec - Wallace.

The expectation should be to win the bloody premiership!

Is this the same w***er that stated Polec was only worth a 1 year contract at the start of the season?

If I was working in AFL media, I would singlehandedly END his career.

Its Terry "North have the worst list bar none" Wallace we are talking about here.

COULD EAGLES MAKE A PLAY FOR HOGAN?

COULD newly-crowned premiers West Coast make a play for Melbourne forward Jesse Hogan?

The Demons star could be on the move during the upcoming trade period, with Fremantle already registering their interest in signing the 23-year-old.

The Dockers are desperate for a key forward but upon closer inspection, both WA clubs could be in the market, according to Herald Sun reporter Jay Clark.

"I think there's a chance … why wouldn't West Coast have an interest?" Clark said on the SuperFooty podcast.

"How old is Josh Kennedy? 31 years of age? (Jack) Darling is what, 26-27 years of age?

"I don't think you can rule out West Coast.

"I think they might actually be in this, especially if Gaff and Lycett leave. It means they've got heaps of money in their salary cap."

The Eagles could lose both Andrew Gaff and Scott Lycett as free agents, with the pair closely linked with North Melbourne and Port Adelaide respectively.

At the rate posts have been appearing in this thread since the GF ended, I doubt it matters.

If one of our Tassie based posters manages to snap a pic of TT driving Gaff around Devonport tomorrow we'll reach 30,000 posts by Friday.

If i leave Hobart now, it wont take me long to get to the port in this bad boy .......

Newman strikes me as a directive from someone like Luff or Shaw.

Glenn Luff joins as as "head of analysis" in 2 weeks, I think he definitely would of come armed with a list of the best undervalued players in the league statistically in terms of advanced metrics. Even Newmans last 8 games since getting back into the Swans team align pretty favorably with someone like Jmac and far exceed Wrights output this year. I think we just want better ball users out of half back.

His role is officially:

Luff's portfolio at North will see him manage the analysis team, while also working with the list management and recruiting team and assisting on opposition analysis each week.

I think we will definitely see us bring in 1 or 2 of these types this year, my preference is still Finlayson, however, I'm not apposed to a swap for Clarke on the basis we sign all of Gaff, Polec and Hall

Its Shaw for Newman specifically.
