I have never, ever heard a player say missing out on a GF wasn't a horrible feeling. Seems a bit silly to hate on a guy for not pretending he was super pumped about missing out on a crowning moment in his career, and I'm in the camp that he can only blame himself.

I've met the guy several teams in social circles and he's a friendly nice dude. Always shakes peoples hands and addresses them by their names with no sense of arrogance at all. Don't be confusing shyness and being an introvert with being odd.

I don't think you can blame him for being forlorn, knowing that he alone was responsible for missing what everyone on an AFL list strives for.
If Gaff was happy, relaxed and well adjusted on grand final day I would question his sanity.

Look at any sports site they're reporting he is staying, I know for a fact it's a done deal it'll be announced soon

Learn to read. Nobody is actually saying he is staying - they are thinking he is staying. It's quite a difference.
During the week he was definitely committed to North - whether there has been a change of mind remains unclear but nothing I have been told or seen/read indicates that commitment has been withdrawn.

But geez surely if he had any brains his best chance to win a flag is west coast ....the Roos have a handy list but I can’t see them winning 15-16 games to finish top 4 when they have so many neutral Victorian games against Melbourne Richmond Collingwood hawthorn ....

Nobody is reporting it is done at this point. The reports that came from the west were a couple of people saying they think he's changed his mind without any actual facts or quotes backing this.
Most recent reports from Melbourne today are that the reports from the West are just guesses and confirmed as such by Gaff's manager (Nick Bowen said as much on SEN)
Show me one report please that says he is confirmed as staying.
