Bit annoying having someone commit then pull out of that commitment but no real concern as he's not a best 22 player and not a part of our long term future.

Ticks the salary dump box, just not the depth box although the new rules will help with that. Didn't cost much.

If he's got something else then fair enough, probably pretty hard to juggle both things.

It's still a little unusual, makes me wonder if we encouraged this.

Gibbons’ inclusion just added another layer of difficulty, and with Setterfield and Stocker ahead of schedule and likely to be prioritised he probably just thought ‘what’s the point?’

He was listed at the wrong end of the rebuild to make a meaningful contribution, and was effectively collateral ala Matt Shaw, Rhys Palmer.
i hope this is the way to see it...
i dont think he was the weakest player of the list however and i dont think our list has progressed that much[dont forget can never have enough depth]
i think he has lost interest on his own personal front....and just as well because uncommitted and on the phone all day he probably would have been useless and uninterested

Two bigger stories at hand.
WTF is the world coming to, when these social influencer w***ers can make such a good living off gullible, empty lived indiscriminants, and HTF does one make an overnight fortune from managing said w***ers?

The second is more relevant on here. Why is the list management group so dead set determined to add "mature" insurance to the list. Gibbons is a bit older,
but, Fisher, Palmer and Blakey are surely capable of offering sufficient "back up" for what will more than likely constitute a handful of games. Cottrell is an athletic machine, and I haven't seen enough to comment on his footy prowess, but if we have persisted this far into the training block, they must see something. Hate the term, but enough of the deckchairs looking for that extra pay day before slipping in to oblivion. The youngsters 18-21 at least have some scope to step up and become serious players, while adding that same depth insurance.

Surely any disharmony in the group would come from those players aware that they do not have a long term future at the club going half arsed at their work and negatively influencing the group dynamic. We have enough senior players in combination with young men entering fourth and third seasons in the competition. Give me a hungry kid anyday (given what we already have).

I have seen enough of Fisher and Gibbons to add them immediately to fill the two actual vacancies. Happy if the club is interested enough in Cottrell. Surely sooner is better than waiting for "deadlines" With Pickett down and some possibility of out, Fasolo's indiscretions delaying his season, and now Bugg gone, we
have a shortage of high half forward, crumber, pinch hitting mid types, it doesn't take Einstein to see we have the replacements already in the wings.

My daughter knows several that make millions yearly, from doing stuff many would find hard to watch one Youtube episode of.

The ratio of people claiming to make millions from social media vs those that ACTUALLY make millions....

... It would be only a little better than the ratio of HBFers we recruited to turn into midfielders vs those that we actually turned into midfielders...

Pure Steel v Satinover in a match race. I think the only thing bigger back then was the GF and an Ali fight.
wa's (nz's) preux chevalier could pace..........

I find it interesting regards Fisher, Blakey and Palmer. Last year they would have played in the seniors if we had of been able to.

They trained with us during the first part of the off season and now are not. Why? And for that matter, if the club is not looking like adding them on this basis is everyone begging for them?

I don't see any rush to sign Gibbons. He is training great and still doing the same work as the main group anyway, keep him hungry for the list spot and get the best out of him during the preseason before rewarding him.

Cottrell not too sure on. By all reports his running is his main strength, which is cool, but it ain't a running event, it is football. That being said if the club see something there then get him in.

When this Bugg fella ends up on Celebrity Kitchen Dancing Cake Rules a Wife, they better not label him ‘Former Carlton Star.’

Can't say I'm too fussed about this. People change, interests change, life circumstances change. Better for the club to find out now than later, and better for everyone to have Bugg doing what he really wants to do. Good luck to him.

Bugg was only a rookie and was always likely to be a fringe / depth player. Yes, all list spots are valuable, but some are more valuable than others and rookie spots are right at the bottom.

It's disappointing for Lamb, no question, but other than that... meh.
