To put this into context, Cormann's department was in the process of negotiating a billion dollar contract with HelloWorld. Any competent, non-corrupt, Minister would be absolutely scrupulous with his dealings with the company. Cormann is either corrupt or incompetent - you choose!

I could buy the whole "he's a very rich man and doesn't look that closely at his credit card statement" if his Department wasn't negotiating a billion dollar contract at the time. As it is, his response is just not good enough.

I tender a bit for govt depts, they won't even let you buy their coffee if you are having a coffee shop catch up. Say they are prohibited from receiving any benefit from tenderers, even as small as a coffee

Porter does not have the numbers for anything even his own seat. He would only get the nod if the other candidates were shite and Cormann went into bat for him like he did in Pearce (where he also had no numbers at all).
