Would have thought medium impact at least. Hawkins didn't just stand there and swing the elbow, he used the momentum of his whole body - both feet off the ground. You can see Sicily's upper torso is thrust forward - you can't act that

The point of impact was to the back of Sicily's right arm

The impact was obviously "Medium" in the context you and I would use it, but in AFL world, Medium impact is used when the player leaves the field for treatment and is either unable to return or obviously affected. (Or when the AFL want to generate a suspension due to the "look" or media reporting).

Whilst Sicily will no doubt be sore this week, he did play out the game and will play next week you would think. Should only be Low impact.

I would be annoyed if Hawkins isn't fined, (we need to get that thuggery out of the game - this was simply a cowardly snipe off the ball); but patently unfair if he is suspended under the current "interpretations".

So how do you see Sicily's grab at Abletts nuts?

I didn't see it (or read about it other than here), but if so he should also be charged, especially if an intentional, off-the-ball action.

Remember it was a squirrel grip that led to the Matthews/Bruns incident. Has NEVER been acceptable.

Dont you mean on-the-balls action ;)

Not blaming Bruns at all, Matthews was still a snipe - just pointing out that it's never been acceptable (and back then retribution was the norm).

Plenty of your fellow supporters do.
You should research what Bruns had to endure since that moment. Appalling stuff.
And of course nice old grandpa Leigh still won't talk to him.

OMG you want to talk about thuggery being taken out of the game when your team had the 3 best snipers in the AFL during your premiership era.? I'm busting a gut laughing here.

Hawk will probably get fined but nothing for Sicily for provoking it, of course. That is what umps/MRO should be taking into consideration imo.

Nothing in the whack. Happy to just have a fine though after the chook raffle that Michael Christian is running. Especially considering Hawk has traditionally been a pet whipping boy of the MRP.
