They kicked 2.6 in the second but we still had more behinds at half time.

Watch the game, don't just rely upon the score. Actually watch it, try to understand what happened. They had numerous very good scoring opportunities that they would ordinarily kick, and missed.

We weren't the same

They're always going to favour Berg over Fog if JJ is the one out because they want someone to take the backup ruck duties.
Pyke at the start of today's Crows Show:

Some of the decisions we've made ... as I keep saying to people, all decisions are made in the best interest of the team - what's going to give us the best chance to win a game of footy on the weekend cos that's in an essence is my obligation to the rest of the playing group is to go "we need to pick a playing side we think is capable of winning".

We got Fog from the Cameron trade, yeah? As much as Fog looks to have an enormous upside, he is not showing it. Meanwhile Cameron is making a name for himself as Eddie mk II

Unless Fog can force his way into the side, we look to have lost another gem for nothing in return

Don't you know the football? Poor kicking is poor football, we missed a lot of easy shots as well, especially the one by B.Crouch which was directly in front and would have put us in front middle of the last quarter, that was a momentum changer there as they went to kick 4 unanswered goals in a 5 minute period and we lost by that margin.

When you’re a talented young player, but aren’t a natural ball finder the equation is simple, you need to get super fit.

It’s the thing holding Greenwood back and similarly Fogarty.

Fog was behind the 8-ball in this regard when he arrived and is still playing catch up.

Matt Crouch can spend his entire junior footy career racking up elite numbers despite not doing a preseason because he just finds the footy. Brads similar.

I think 2 great examples of this are Dangerfield and Ablett. 2 guys who spent their first 4-5 seasons showing elite level talent, but struggling to hit 15 touches on a regular basis. Suddenly they get serious and get fit and they’re different players.

I remember rocking up to preseason training for the 2012 season and seeing Dangerfield beating van Berlo in the 1-2km time trials. Both were well ahead of the next runners. Danger didn’t rock up to our club in great shape and wasn’t known as a massive ball winner, but managed to get himself super fit and almost doubled his possession numbers in the space of a preseason, instantly becoming an elite mid in the comp.

Not everyone can do this and I’m not saying Fog needs to be winning time trials, but he does need to get fit. He’s got a heap of talent, but natural ball winner is not one of his attributes and when that’s the case, you need to make sure you can just bust your gut to get to every contest possible and ensure you’ve still got the energy to impact it.
Exhibit A - Reilly O'Brien.

Before the season started this year I was talking to one of our best (top 6-8) players about using Carlton’s pick to throw at GS to bring Lukoscius and his response was why? He went on to say we have Fog who will be a star he just needs to get fitter. Some of the stuff he pulls of at training is brilliant. We see flashes of it in the games but his fitness base is shithouse. Once he builds the tanks over a few preseasons he will be a star forward of the competition. Player’s words. I think that tells us all we need to know.

Lukosious will replace Lynch and the position he plays.

Ok, good. So we're not buying the line that the people in here claiming that we drafted a dud are selling. So why can't we play a guy with a not yet fully developed tank in our forward line? What's the harm?

We played him last year and he was able at times to impact games. Has his tank become worse?

If we have this elite talent who's going to burst out just as soon as he hits that fitness base, surely the best thing to do would be to make sure that the necessary experience base is tracking to be at the right spot by the time the fitness is?

It's abundantly clear he needs to improve his fitness to be a forward in today's game, but he's not going to develop a forwards tank playing defence in the SANFL.

He has "stint" in the midfield as well and we were trying to find a position for him in the AFL (especially when Doedee did his ACL) but probably was very surprise by Keath's form so that was scrapped (but more so as he looked lost playing down there).

Gunston was close to nothing, Danger was miles under. We’re better now, we did much better than nearly anyone expected with the CC trade.
We still got something rather than nothing even if inadequate which was the point Kristof was making.

Most on this board thought it was a win when we got the Fog for CC pick, yet now it's nothing.

There is a distinct lack of patience on this board, as Fog is likely to be a special player for us... but he won't be dominating the AFL as a 19 year old.

He literally praised the cameron trade in the post you quoted.

Basically I see Fog something like a Doedee equivalent. Both highly athletic, talented and both hardball nuts.

Main difference being Doedee had to bid time due to all defenders being in good form (2016-2017), as opposed to Fog who had a stack of early opportunities due to there being so many injuries (2018), particularly injuries up forward to Tex, McGov, Lynch.

And like Doedee, I hope he will kill it at AFL in his 3rd year. Once his fitness is up to scratch, he won’t need to be anyone’s substitute but just a plain outright regular 22.

Bovo didn't. I'm supporting Kristof on this one that getting Fog for CC is hardly getting nothing.

Keep up ;)

Keep up? You quoted one poster, and now instead claim that you were responding to another. This is beyond even your usual levels of incoherence.

I quoted the poster that who I was supporting.

Really not hard to follow if you read what I wrote...

Danger?imean we got someone we delisted so for me that means nothing. In regards to Fog. While he is not playing we have nothing to show for the CC trade where he is killing it
