Players the CFC are 'apparently' currently into -

1. Coniglio
2. Papley -
3. BHill -
4. Martin -
5. Baker -
6. Ellis -
7. Cameron -
8. Brodie -

I'll add others but first things first - We won't be able to take this 8 alone, let alone any more. 3 bonafide recruits will likely see us through.

Guess some good detective work will need to come about before we recognise what's possible, is likely to come about and for what makes for perfect sense.

Really struggling to see either of these two leave their current teams. I just don't see it at the moment.

Yes, shake one of Baker or Bolton.
before the season started i mentioned Baker as a good get for Carlton ...................... But was just about kicked out of here
good to see some of you gents are warming to him

Baker is a chance but would be harder to move than Butler i think with Shai being a priority to keep for Richmond

Apologies if this has already been brought up and answered but where is Patrick Kerr?
Not in emergencies or Northerns team sheet and also not on injury list.
What am I missing?

Was listed as out with a shoulder injury last week, I assume that remains the case this week also, strange that it doesn't rate a mention however

I'd throw the chequebook at Walla. Genuine match winner, of which we have very few.
Yep

Something in the vicinity of $500k-$600k over 4-5 years

I love Walla

Pains me to watch him in such an unattractive jumper.

We need to help him, we simply must

FWIW I think he stays a bomber 🤢🤮

AMT is apparently taking offers

He is, in my opinion, the only difference making small forward in the league. He’s a game breaker and insanely popular, as well as being a perfect fit for us. At 26 he is also looking for his one big contract

I think he is worth $850k or more over 4 years and would happily give it to him. Would need to trade and again, he is the only small forward in the comp I’m giving up a first round pick for.
Agree with everything but the $850k per year.

But I know sfa about celery CAPS

Edit: I’d give a first for Papley as well

It was a good call but I think we probably really just wanted players who were proven and no more 2-3 year wait and see types. As it turns out he would be ready to go next season

So are we still getting Aiden Bonar?
I hope so. If we are our best chance is hoping GWS want to trade out of this years first round to save picks getting matched on Green and have an extra pick next season.
Eg trade our future first and maybe our two thirds (points for them to match a bid or at least mid level picks for them, possibly even turn those into a mid second for them)
For Bonar and a first ~14 this season. Then on trade that pick for someone like Martin or whoever.
Something like that is the only way I could see us justifying the price he will cost. They won’t move him on unless they are getting something that really helps them out of it.

Quick question for someone that knows more than I.

How much would it cost in picks to get Ainsworth out of Goldcoast?
I think he could be a star small fwd mid for us , approaching his 3rd year and probably ready to go.

Contracted for next season - think it'd be a top 10 pick to get Gold Coast to think about it, as they've shown they're prepared to play hard ball with in-contract players trying to jump ship. They'd probably push for a mature age player as well, someone like an Anthony Miles or Corey Ellis.

Reckon their preference would be a 24-26yo quality player though, a leader they could continue to develop their team around. Don't think we have anyone suitable who we'd part with.

Yeah fair enough

If we are optimistic and say we will win a flag in 2 years I don't think we need Plowman. Weitering, Jones, Marchbank, Casboult, + McGovern should go down there plus the younger key backs seem cover enough. If we go long term and say flag in 6 years we will have Weitering, Marchbank, McGovern plus the young guys we have now will be at their peak. Silvagni or Kennedy can play 3rd tall to support McKay and Curnow if need be but no reason those two aren't enough on their own. We should be doing something about getting value for Plowman while we can.
Same with SPS, Fisher and Dow. I don't know whether 3 guys who are so small by AFL standards can be in a 22 that wins a flag. All three are AFL standard but all 3 together do hurt in finals intensity games. Fisher is the one I would be looking at trading, Dow #2 pick and been ordinary this year but has great upside and SPS can do silky things other footballers can't.

Is Mabior Chol another option for some cheap ruck backup?

Tigers rookie list (one of 8 rookies!), 200cm, I think he's about 22. I haven't seen much of him play, haven't caught any of the last 5 Tigs games where he's played. Think he's playing predominantly fwd based of his averages:
10.8 disp, 3.4 marks, 1.4 goals, 2.4 tackles, 8.8 hitouts, just the 62% TOG.

Maybe I'm off the mark here, but could be a couple of year stopgap until TDK is ready to take the reigns.

No way they giving up Ben Ainsworth. He'd be in top 3 or 4 most important players on their list in terms of where they want to take themselves next decade.
Top 5 pick of a draft at minimum just to even get to talk trade...
Even then they would be mad to let him go. Won't happen.
Papley is more gettable.
