Anyone notice that when asked about Fog in his post game interview Tex said “he’ll be a gun for this club for the next 10 years”
Yeah, I saw that. I think that was Tex sending a message directly to the disgruntled fans.

In saying that, I’ve lost count of how many times Crows players have said similar about the likes of Dangerfield, Lever etc. It means diddly squat really.

I still maintain what I mentioned a year or two ago, that I’m not so sure Fog will stay. Seems too laid back and noncommittal to be a surety to stay. I don’t buy the “S.A. boy” angle. Lucindale is so far away, it may as well be in Victoria and is in fact closer to Victoria than it is to Adelaide.

I hope I’m wrong. He could very well stay, but I’m not at ease about it.

That actually annoys he even more watching that.. an indictment that we couldn’t give him more games this year..

Could have been an exciting tandem to watch all year. Imagine having two blokes who can roost them from 55.

He’s one of those guys who just looks like he belongs. From day one he had a Carey-esque strut, an air of supreme confidence, a presence in the contest.

To have wasted that in the SANFL all year as we scramble for the prestigious prize of eighth ******* spot is a crime against humanity. That coaching group has to be held accountable for that. Every single one of them.

But its more than just wasting as in not having him in those games. We've deprived ourselves of the opportunity to have him at adequate experience in the close of this year's season.

I said at the start of the season our chances would be much better if we had a thirty game Fog heading into finals, than with the same old stooges. I think the fact that he's able to impact results without the experience only highlights the point.

Closer to vic yes, but it’s closer to Adelaide than Melbourne by 150kms. Still doesn’t really change your point I guess.

There’s no excuses though. We should have plenty of cap space, they just to pick him and pay him appropriately.

Uh oh

Yeah.

And you have wonder though, even if we do pick him from now on, how much pre existing resentment there is from being overlooked all year. It’s probably the difference when big offers come knocking.

Don’t need to tell you though, reckon that’s one of your theories.

I loved his game.

He took marks on the lead, he crashed packs, he kicked well.

Defences are going to worry with him playing as he looks like we wants to hurt people, and frequently does. He may frustrate and give a few frees away over the years but we will get a few dropped marks as a result of his presence and opposition scared Fogs gonna crash into them.

Big, big fan.

Yeah, for the players who have left you wonder when was the moment (or collection of moments) that made up their mind?

Lever getting dropped for finals. Made to come back via SANFL from a 3 week hamstring. First contract offer quite low.

Dangerfield always had the lure of home. Would he have been able to withstand that lure as Sloane has done if we hadn't had all those picks taken away?

We look at the end point which might look rosy. Eg Gunston played a string of games and was looking good at the end of Year 2. But was he mentally out the door by then, susceptible to being poached?

Davis got a massive offer, not our fault. Yeah but did we recognise that he'd be a target and tie him up with a healthy offer of our own preemptively? Or did we assume the start ups would be targeting established stars like Rutten? How did getting dropped for Stevens and having Talia drafted affect his thinking?

Clubs target players who are vulnerable. Undervalued and underplayed by their clubs. Those are the ones who can be turned most easily.

With Davis we screwed up our list management to try and keep Tippet only to have the expansion clubs then be able to poach other players because we couldn't match any other offers. Can you imagine how much better off we'd have been if we just let Tippet go to GC?

That 60m goal was so bloody good and kicked with such daring confidence that it made me so angry that we wasted half of this kid's season sticking him in defence in the reserves - should have played close to every game this season, and he should be playing every single one in 2020. No excuses.

I love how be burnt Murphy who was in the clear by about 20 metres and went 'Nup, you'll probably miss it again, I'll take the shot'

His non disposal stuff last year was AFL quality. He had defenders worried then.

I have to say, whilst my preference would have been to play him more, he certainly looks fitter and more able to play a game out

Looking at those highlights it's hard t believe he has been out of the side for so long. Mind you we can't break that brilliant AFC system. Has skill, aggression, toughness and X-factor in spades - shame on you Pyke.

BTW how good was Milera's pick up.

I don't know how many shots on goal we gave up because of this bulls**t.
Lynch, my god.

"I know, it will fool everybody if I chip it to that guy who is 5m closer to goal than me!"
*20m kick*
"Oh yeah, defenders."

As opposed to all those times we bombed it long to Lachie Murphy?

We simply don’t have the structure, nor the pack crashing key forwards to just bomb it long.

Lynch can only just clear the line when on the run from 50. When he’s kicking a set shot it means he needs the man on the mark to be within 45, hence he often looks to pass off when many others would make it comfortably.

There was one moment late in the 3rd when Lynch had the ball 55 out and stuffed up a short pass to a leading player. It was the right option, we had no great option long, the issue is he didn’t see the lead until too late, hence the player was too close and space shut down by the time he kicked.

I agree though, if you’re within range, don’t pass off, take the responsibility and have the shot, the likelihood of the next bloke kicking it over you, doesn’t outweigh the risk of messing up the kick to that player before he even has a shot.

If we can’t keep a country SA kid on our list than we might as well shut up the club and call it a day.

Country kids would have to be the absolute easiest to keep in Adelaide. Even easier than local Adelaide boys.

If we **** this one up we’ll officially be a rabble.

If he’s gonna make it as a crow, he’s going to have to learn the club rules
1. Do not be aggressive
2. Do not seek contact
3. Do rough up the opposition
4. Do not show any flair
5. Do not put your body on the line

He must learn these rules and learn to run the same way every time like a emotionless robot devoid of any natural instinct.

Underrated post.

He sticks out like a sore thumb cos he plays like someone who doesn’t play for Adelaide.
