Seems like an unusual thing for him to say. Its strange IMO.

Don’t think it’s that unusual and not strange.

Think it’s almost 100% certain that at least some of players would be talking about Cogs coming in on a huge salary and whether that’s fair or not.

It’s like any workplace.

From TW’s perspective, he probably views Cripps as the best at Carlton - if not the league - and wants him to be paid as such. See it as a nice thing of him to say.

Unfortunately, there's just no such thing as a fit side in football. It's just about impossible to have a full list considering how tough and physical the sport actually is. Therefore, it's not about being fit so much as having depth. We're certainly getting there but we're not all the way there yet.

Lions have had a relatively fit side all year

The inability to speak was just so so bad

Represents the club terribly

Cant they just rotate someone else from the board to the presidents seat and keep him on the board?

Disagree.

Current fan engagement, membership numbers, crowd attendances and corporate / sponsorship support would suggest he’s going ok....

Reckon he’s representing the club just as a president should.

Is it? Couldn't care less what my fellow workmates get paid. Im only worried about my own pay packet. Im interested to know if he cares who is the 8th best paid player or the 17th best paid player? I would suggest not. Its still a strange thing to say.

Yep.
Even Bolton, whilst at times he spoke in riddles, was a more eloquent orator than Teague currently is.

But, as we’re seeing - having that skill doesn’t always ensure results.
Really ? Bolton and eloquent ? Wouldn't have thought so. His pressers were cringe.
He was a premeditated robot.

Teague has natural chraisma and sense of humour. Listening to him has been a breath of fresh air.

I don’t disagree the club is going in the right direction and he is doing a great job in that regard, but he honestly shouldn’t talk at at all if that’s what he’s going to dish up at a function where we have just appointed a new coach and Cripps playing his 100th game.

I would have seen nearly 60 different local footy president speak after games and he was by far the worst

He should get himself to some public speaking courses,

tipping you might be interested if someone at your same level came in and was paid 10% more than you for no other reason than to lure them there.........

This is an admirable character trait but it probably places you in <1% of the population who feel the same way.

I wouldn't know in the first place TBH. Salary arrangements of the employees of my company aren't discussed. Im worried about me, not anyone else. When I get a promotion I will negotiate a new salary that Im happy with based on what I think Im worth,, not on what other people might be getting.

Best case scenario for our sanity re: the rabbit.

Bulldogs knock off the Giants today and the Crows next week. Giants finish 6th and Bulldogs finish 7th. The Bulldogs turn it on again and knock off the Giants in week 1 of the finals. Coniglio can announce his departure on the Tuesday after enjoying their Mad Monday.

That means we can all celebrate with rabbit stew on Tuesday the 10th of September.

I agree with your 2nd point wholeheartedly.

Funny how people like to forget when Bolton was appointed was almost universally applauded and his hard work admired all round on uniting the club (staff, players, families etc). I remember when Bolton arrived and he takes the young players to tasmania and spoke about the journey and being invested. Whether you like it or not, he spoke with an eloquence. Did it get results? Sadly not.
Unfortunately for him his pressers became rather predictable (due to our losses) and we didn’t see the human side of Bolts who was so processed driven.

Uh, are you serious?

Bolton was fine, but Teague is exceptional. Concise, measured and very emotionally intelligent. His oratory skills are clearly superior to Bolton’s.
