Where do people pull these percentages from?

Like, is Coniglio sitting there with an excel spreadsheet putting in 1-10 scores for "money", "culture", "success", "facilities", "coaches", "teammates" etc. and coming up with some mathematical equation to determine which clubs he should be considering?

Before today there was nothing to suggest it was Hawthorn for sure, and I doubt a big money offer from North eliminates us from the race but somehow strengthens the Hawks' position at the same time.

The Hamish McLachlan comments? Does anyone really think that Coniglio would be pleased if he confided sensitive information to a close friend/business partner, who immediately leaked it to buff up his own media profile? Cogs would be ropeable, and McLachlan wouldn't do it in the first place.

Gut feel, Cogs knows exactly where he's going, but his manager will continue to leak conflicting info from one week to the next to keep it all hush hush but still give the media their clickbait.

Agree BB, it was looking like a one horse race and the AFL didn't like the smell. (you know how they are about scandalous behaviour, and cover ups ). Best some one muddies the water.

I can almost guarantee that North have no offer in front of Coniglio (albeit a personal view) and definitely guarantee that 1.6mil a year is too big to even take that post seriously. There's a reason we aren't linked to anybody this season despite the "warchest", our priorities are elsewhere (you probably will get a battle with us if Papley moves down for example).

Been a silent but bemused observer, a lot of parallels between your saga with Cogs and ours with Dusty and then Gaff last year but this is about the time the "new contender" comes in. They're never real.

Wish you luck with it all, he'll be a great acquisition if you get it over the line.

Don’t agree. We are coming from a long way back. Ability to attract free agents will increase with more success.

I don’t agree with that. Each year there is 1 “big fish” free agent that 17 clubs will put work into. Only 1 club can get the player, so the 17 clubs that miss out do you think they all have an inability to attract free agents?

If you miss out you do what 16 clubs do which is load up and go again, we won 2 games last year, 1 from 11 to start this year, the fact we are in any conversation about any free agent is a miracle, add to that it’s the biggest free agent available, it’s more surprising than if the Christians are right and Jesus turned up

Unfortunately, there's just no such thing as a fit side in football. It's just about impossible to have a full list considering how tough and physical the sport actually is. Therefore, it's not about being fit so much as having depth. We're certainly getting there but we're not all the way there yet.

Makes absolute sense and he’s a (the) leader of that club and he owes them to focus on the finals and do the best they can without distractions.

Having said that, they are going to be absolutely destroyed by the Doggies in the elimination final!

p.s. the Bombers are also going to get destroyed in the other Elimination Final

He has been urged to tell the club as soon as he knows he is leaving so they can shore up other contracts and trades. I also imagine if he is no chance to play finals he would tell them early.
