Hartigan stays as a warm body on minimum wage, ready to be cut loose as soon as we have a younger replacement.

When Dunstall came in as CEO at Hawthorn, he delisted or traded everyone over 27. We shouldn't be THAT severe, but we should be looking to 2022, and competing for the finals again then. If you're not in that team and not Rory Sloane, you should either be traded this year or phased out as your contract expires.

I'd trade Jenkins, Greenwood, Keath, Jacobs and Tom Lynch. Gibbs and Betts stay, retiring at the conclusion of their contract. We build around the Crouch brothers.

I don't care about keeping Hartigan or not. He's a cheaper, and much less valuable stop gap whilst Butts develop. The difference in keeping Keath and Hartigan is one gives us a 2nd round pick, the other does not, whilst both are effectively stop gap solutions whilst we rebuild.

If we went in next season with a tall defensive set up of Talia - Butts (using Hartigan when he gets cooked) - Doedee, I would be very comfortable with that. To extend that plan, we also should drafted another KPD somewhere to use to siphon Doedee out of the third tall role (and into something more valuable) in 2021.

I can see your thought process, and there's components I agree with .....but youth coming in, will improve quicker in a winning side than a bottom 4 club

Apart from some hype .....Butts offers no guarantees .....there's also no guarantees we draft a great KPP this year & he's ready by 2022.....Keath I think can play till then
