I think it’s more the fact that Jenkins at $700k doesn’t fit in our structure.
He was prepared to take a pay cut, apparently.

WCE are well aware that Danger was a FA and we could have just offered huge money that the Crows couldn’t have matched. Won’t have much impact on the trade apart from external noise.
If we wanted Jenkins we would of fitted him in. wells doesn’t want him.
This is interesting. They (trade radio) asked if the first this year and first next year would do it Wells said no

This is interesting.
All the back and forth between us and the Eagles fans is just amateurish speculation.
Wells actually does this for a job. Based on his substantial knowledge, understanding and experience, if he is able to say that the first this year and next from WC is not enough, then it is likely that he is able to say this with confidence and have a strong negotiating positioning.
He's not a Dodoro type list manager. He doesn't make outlandish statements. He just goes about it quietly.
The only people who are swayed by these fickle arguments are supporters. The professionals are aware of how exactly everything went down and if they brought up some of these ridiculous arguments that the media run (just to keep us engaged), then they'd be laughed out of the room.WCE are well aware that Danger was a FA and we could have just offered huge money that the Crows couldn’t have matched. He is and he isn't. He'll look foolish if he says its not enough and then has to accept it.I think you are hearing something different to me... he is just playing the media game...
Take Rozee aside Ablett had a good year but failed in a lot of ways when it mattered, made errors turned the ball over a fair bit and at times lacked an impact, we brought Ablett from GCS to make an impact when it matters in big games, i hope he improves next year....Gaz made the AA squad this year, had double the inside 50s of Rozee, 40 more score involvements, had 130 more kicks.
I agree that Rozee is about as good as it gets from the draft, but even he doesn’t get close to Gaz.
What's your motive behind the question?
Yes agree. A strange one that one. It seems recruiters & clubs want raw athletic ability before football nous . Football smarts totally underrated and obviously not tested at combine.I sometimes find it a bit funny when recruiters get a bit too cute with these natural forward types and dismiss many of them...
Gyran Miers is a perfect example, how he slipped to us with Pick 57. A bit silly imho. Kicking +50 goals, +7 in a GF to win the game... should never have slipped so low.
Don’t underestimate fogarty. His year was cooked due to injuries and shouldn’t be judged on it.
Give him a big pre season and you will start to see what he can do. As a junior he was a high possession winning aggressive tackling midfielder with good decision making.
He cops a very underserving spray on here. I rate him and can tell the coaches do also from the games his first year they gave him.
Draft year he averaged 25 disposals per game as a midfielder and 10 tackles per game.
Those are some impressive stats. Something our midfield lacks is the aggressive tackling exhibit. Him and cockatoo could really shake things up in that area next year

I was interested in your opinion if you have?
Surely a smokescreen regarding ruckman?Wells on trade radio:
- St Kilda will set the market for Steven and we will decide whether we are in
- No Jenkins (tight TPP)
- no interest in any other ruckmen after missing Goldstein
- any Kelly picks likely to be taken to the draft
He is and he isn't. He'll look foolish if he says its not enough and then has to accept it.
So if he's saying it's not enough, he has a realistic alternative to bank what he thinks is a fair deal for Kelly.
Surely Wells is only bluffing us with TPP?Tight TPP. How were we going to fit in Kelly.
Like fun you are, think l've given plenty of reasons why and stats to back it up.
You've got your own mind made up, so have l.

He said he was willing to play for significantly less. Rumoured to drop to 200k.I think it’s more the fact that Jenkins at $700k doesn’t fit in our structure.

Yet no one wants the tosser. Might end up as a rookie lol.
Cameron imoThere is a real possibility that we have another big fish lined up and that is why the cap is tight or Wells is possibly keeping a spare 800k-1m free in case Gaff decides he wants to come to us, I still wouldn't be surprised if we got Jenkins in the last hour of the trade period for peanuts if nobody wants him.
Cameron imo
I meant next year in regard to salary capDont have the currency for him unfortunately, he would command top 5 draft picks since he is still contracted and the reigning Coleman medalist, think we will wait until next year when he is a FA, still think he will sign with GWS during the year tbh.
