Further to that point. I unlike you have seen them live and work in the industry so I can tell you what is important and what isn't. Your assessments aren't and rarely are on this particular stuff. Have you heard of Mitch Grigg by the way?

That's fine by me but don't try to say l don't research or give reasons why l think we need a particular player.
I've seen enough of Geelong to say where l believe they're lacking.
Why do you mention Mitch G.

Nah if he doesn't get picked up he will stay at Adelaide and get his 700k even if it means playing in the SANFL. He is contracted until 2022 so he doesnt have to do anything really because Crows cant just get rid of him.
Ah yeah, forgot he was still contracted. Which makes it even more funny cause it shows how badly the crows want him to gtfo.

The entire club is a basketcase, I think its probably more Jenkins pushing to leave than anything. I just find it hilarious that the crows will have to hold onto him because they were dumb enough to offer him 5 years on huge coin.

Might be that he had a 46 goal season and looked awesome at times.
Destroyed Rance that year and played like a star.
Why else would he be given a 5 yr contact, he played well and they backed themselves.

Exactly backed themselves and it blew up in their face much like JJ's comments about Danger being a premiership player if he had stayed days before being annihilated in the GF, i dont doubt the guy was a good player but to throw that sort of money and contract length at him after 1 good season is asking for trouble.

True it is, I think maybe they worried about Tex slowing down to much.
Over reacted. Wasn't JJ injured much of 2018?...or was it more about form?
Probably both.

From everything I've heard so far on Trade Radio and read on this site, we are meant to take on other clubs' offcasts, pay top value and be happy about it and yet, we are heartless, selfish and unrealistic in our expectations about the trade of 1 of the best young players in the last couple of years.

From memory Tex was pretty good in the year they made the GF but since then he has been terrible to the point of playing SANFL so probably justified, just that offering JJ that contract wasn't the right move, i think he has gotten comfortable knowing he has 5 years guaranteed and knowing the kind of bloke he is probably slacked off and now its come back to bite him because the club is a shambles.

Doubt it, nothing really out there much better than Stanley.

Agreed. Stanley's best was clearly competitive against the supposed beasts of the comp earlier in the year. His omission during the season (let alone for the QF) was the most inane moment of self-defeating selection policy I have seen in the history of this coach at the Cattery. He was clearly the best we had (and more than capable of holding his own against top drawer opposition) and we chose to omit him in the absence of any remotely equivalent alternative on our list.

Wells at least appears to be indicating that we won't see that particular textbook example of an epic blunder again in 2020.

Pretty compelling argument for paying no attention to the media sideshow that is Trade Radio right there...

Personally thought he might bring some size and physically to aid Hawkins and the other smaller types.
If he’s cheap l reckon he's strengthening the list. Just needs more consistency and Geelong might be a good fit, but hasn't Wells ruled him out?

Nup.....plays much smaller than his height. Is a HFF trapped in a Key-position player’s body.

Yeah i dont think Wells wants him, used the TPP as an excuse even though JJ said he would play for 200k, think the dickhead in the bloke is biting him in the ass.

Wells doesn't fill me with confidence when we talk about picking talls.
Seems like he'd just rather forget as long as possible.

Lots of out-of-contract ruckmen available, not sure if any are better than Stanley, but better than Zac Smith?

Tom Nicholls
Tom Hickey
Billy Longer
Marc Pittonet
Billy Frampton
Andrew Phillips
Matt Eagles
Darcy Cameron
Lloyd Meek
Scott Jones
Brayden Crossley (maybe banned?)
Matthew Lobbe
Keegan Brooksby
Tom Campbell
Zac Clarke

I was literally about to post about Tom Nicholls. RFA with low value due to injuries and probably will not get ahead of Witts for the #1 spot.

Well castoffs might be a tad of a long straw... Steven is still contracted..who else are you thinking about?
