Yeah. Great comparison. I shouldn't expect much more from you really.

But in answer to your question, the difference is that they have approval to do so. Pretty simple...

Approval from who? The govt?
Guess what genius, the govt gives approval to almost any protest because we are allowed to express our views, even if it means disrupting traffic.
But we know you just want to stop people protesting when their protest doesn't conform with your BS.
Laughable nonsense.

Here's an alternative question. What gives people the right to deliberately inconvenience or disrupt other people's lives without permission given to do so?
This goes entirely to the fact that you don’t agree with the message. Some of the worthiest people and events in our history involved ‘inconveniencing’ people to effect change. Supporters of Martin Luther King Jr, Nelson Mandela, current Hong Kong democracy protesters would all go to jail under your proposal for not seeking permission from the people they are protesting against. It’s a stupid suggestion and a massive overreach. Let it go.

The simple fact that there is a LEGAL way to protest continuously sails over our leftist friends heads.
So you support the Chinese government over Hong Kong people?

I said it before (but it sailed over your head), just because something is legal doesn’t make it moral, just because something is illegal doesn’t make it immoral. Slavery was legal. The Holocaust was legal. Laws are the product of lawmakers, sometimes they can be wrong. And protested against.

Yes, the staggering amount of morality involved in blocking routes used by emergency services is so obvious.
Perhaps it needs you, your partner or your kid to be in an ambulance and getting caught up by actions like this before you realise just how IMMORAL protests like this are?

twice? three times?

Jailed for the sickening crime of blocking traffic.
If the morons who hog the right lane on the M1 doing 99kph could receive the same punishment, justice will be served. If it were up to me, they would receive a public flogging....and yes, I've been told many times that I'm far too kind.

The only reason certain protests are illegal is because successive governments don’t want the populace having the freedom to speak out against it. And the free speech brigade are right in lockstep because they dredge up examples of free speech they don’t like. Of course, they only realise how sh!t the laws are when something they want to say is shut down. Like a frog in boiling water.

Speaking of frogs, that's frogshit.

You HAVE the freedom to protest in this country already, and many, many groups adhere to the requirements.

They're not onerous, they're not draconian and they are quite clear. Don't protest with an intention to disrupt peoples lives and safety or their private property. Simples.

However, you prefer the cutesy pie notion of civil disobedience as it warms the cockles of your heart.

Again, it'll take your house burning down, whilst the fireys are caught up in a 'protest' induced traffic jam before anything penetrates that skull of yours.

Protests are far more disruptive than nasty words. There is nowhere in the world that allows protest to the degree speech is permitted, and certainly not the kind that explicitly attempts to disrupt.

At least two thousand farmers took to Dutch highways and roads on their tractors, in a slow procession toward the country's capital, The Hague. Some drove their tractors along the North Sea beaches that lead to the city.

It was a visible demonstration of their trade, but it also caused major traffic chaos.

The Dutch motorists association ANWB said the tractors, along with bad weather and accidents, made Tuesday the busiest ever morning on the nation's roads, resulting in more than 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) of traffic jams.

The Hague police said two farmers were detained, one who drove over a fence with his tractor and another who tried to stop police from detaining the first offender.

"The police respect that farmers are standing up for their interest and we're trying to facilitate this demonstration with hundreds of tractors as well as possible," authorities said in a statement.

Let's have a quick show of hands.

Who supports farmers causing a massive traffic jam with their protest?
Who thinks they should be locked up for inconveniencing and/or disrupting people's lives?

I vote: farmers, protest as much as you want, cause as big a traffic jam as you need, to make your point.
I look forward to the mental gymnastics.

I'm excited as we have a massive week of protesting coming and guess who just happens to be on holidays (no i'm not long term unemployed)? Can't wait. I'm going to dust of my "The end is nigh - stop global cooling" sign from the 80's, make a quick change and I'm good to go.

Laughable nonsense.

If you are so concerned with the environment why aren't you protesting against immigration?

If I remember right, Moron Cravehead was saying how wonderful that was, but from the posts I've uncovered here he's against protesting if you're a climate change advocate. No wonder I put that idiot on ignore.

More lies.
And even more lies when you say you have me on ignore.

Please make a public announcement when the Gov't funds your new backbone.

You gutless piece of shit.

We all know the loony right haven't got enough self awareness to understand.
Block traffic = lock 'em up. Except when they protest for things that I agree with because we all know that emergency vehicles can much more easily navigate through a blocked road when it is blocked by people that I agree with.
