You can make all the excuses in the world, but the bottom line is he managed 3 games in 2018 and three games in 2019....Clearly the MC have little faith in him. He has apparently been told to look for other options and should he find one I have little doubt he will be released....

For whatever reason he hasn't satisfied the MC's requirements....nice guy apparently but AFL is a ruthless game..on and off the field.

I reckon he goes, but Buzza gets a rookie contract and Simpson and/or Zuthrie get re-rookied after being delisted. Alongside Jones, Cunico, Scooter, Abbott and Kelly, we'll have 6 main list spots available then. Means we can (hopefully) get picks that are somewhere along the lines of 9, 14, 17, 36, 54, 72, with 54 or Future 2nd for Steven, and bring someone else in, alongside our draft haul.

Fort is a poor man's Smith imho, and that doesn't sound too strong

Look Fort maybe... But it was his 1st season, and playing a whole new position as a FF/CHF. I'd like to see him play in his natural position in the Ruck.... He got drafted as a ruck so let him play there. And look he didn't go to bad for his 1st time playing forward...

simpson was our best get since mummy
but injury stuffed him when he was looking ok

we had a really bad patch with injuries to key players, ie one who were not easily replacable

think menzel, egan, cockatoo, mccarthy, simpson
very few games from a very talented group

Vardy was a KF second ruck.
Simpson was a proper young ruck draftee.

I dont disagree but we have 4 mature rucks and he is the oldest and the only one OOC. Delisting him is an obvious call.

Buy why is abbott and fort contracted? Surely these players arent good enough to earn anything more than 1 year contracts. Sh** if menzel could only ever earn 1 year contracts then why are vfl players earning multi year contracts. Its not like anyone else would of taken them if we only signed them for one. Horrible mismanagement. We end up cutting not the worst players. Same issue with parsons and horlin smith getting multi year contracts. And billie smedts from memory too. Amatuer stuff.

I guess so. Still, we recruited Blake, West, Mumford, Simpson, and Vardy within about five or six years of each other. Then nothing for the next 10 unless you count Sav or Blitz

They've got to back Stanley in for the whole season and if that means only having young rucks as backup and getting rid of Smith, Abbott and Fort then so be it.

Stanley/Sav ruck combo could be pretty sexy but they've gotta play Krueger with Hawkins as well; dangerous tall setup we could have on our hands

Hes injury prone and rubbish. If we go down that route id rather Pittonet who at least dominates a superior state league than neafl, or even Phillips. Really we could just move on Smith and Abbott and rookie a state league ruck and we'd be fine. The problem with our ruck stocks is a lack of top end quality not depth.

Been stuck behind Martin for years, hasn’t worked when they’ve tried them together, played just 9 games in 4 years of those only 2 were rucking solo without Martin.
