Your selling the Swans kids short mate.

Geelong have not got any kid close to the presence and class of Nick Blakey (for example)

And they were one of the better performers in last year's draft imo.

They are still probably too reliant on an injury and aging Buddy and other question makes to be a serious Finals contender, but look out for them 2021 onwards.

Probably need to put Horse out to pasture by tje and get a fresh and younger voice as coach.

As much as I dislike Sydney and their entitlement with academy and previous draft concessions, their future is a lot brighter than Geelong's (or so ir seems on the surface)

I agree that their future looks brighter than Geelong's. They do need a few more young pieces.

Florent, Blakey, Heeney, Mills, Hayward, Stephens and Papley (...) is a talented group, but there'll be a drop off before the rise.

Blakey merely a pretend Finbar.....

Yeah better than Geelong's for sure, but still not top 8 material any time soon imo.

Mills hasn't really come on, i don't think he's any better now than in his first year. Even Florent & Hayward have stagnated a bit although they are still early in their careers. Papley wanted/wants to come to us.

Their problems remain the same; a ridiculously slow midfield coupled with a lack of overall talent across the field. Not going to be a fun 2020 for them.

Holes all over the field tbh.

Slow midfield
Their key forwards Walker & Lynch are hit up forwards not contested marking pack crashers (though they have Fogarty coming through)
No small forwards of note
They have very little key defender depth...only ones of note are Talia & Doedee (who is more a third defender and coming off an ACL). The fact that Hartigan is still their no.2 key defender says a lot.

IMO when you look at their list, their list management has been pretty poor in recent times.

I imagine they hope Milera, Jones and Smith will balance their midfield out. Schoenberg was a strange pick though considering what they have but probably thought he was too good to miss. still feel Sharpe would’ve been the go.
McAsey was added to that defence and they took Worrell as that tall forward to add to Himmelberg.
They seemed to try and cover their losses but it just seems they are chasing their tail abit.

Phillips has started well for * been involved in the first couple of goals and laid some solid tackles.

Big upgrade on Zac Clarke unfortunately
To be fair, being a big upgrade on Clarke isn't much ;) If Bellchambers goes down, * will be stretched with only Phillips and the project rucks

Reckon you would be an upgrade on Zac Clarke.

Irving Mosquito looks like he's got a few tricks.

Looks like he'll be a good pickup for the Bombers.

Can you blame them? I see a tweet this morning describing Watson on the radio saying Essendon fans should feel good about their prospects this season based on last night?

seriously? A scrappy win in a monsoon against a disinterested Eagles team. my god.
