Wetting myself? I said he was fully fit coming off a full pre season and you had an issue with that.

A player coming off a long term injury with a limited pre season was never going to be at his best last season, we have seen some positive signs. Never claimed he was a superstar of the comp.

My attitude on pre season games is as long as you don’t get absolutely slaughtered - showing you’re miles off the pace - then don’t worry too much about it. It’s not a great predictor.

Mine is that unless you have a win (or even play well) with a bunch of kids and fringe players then who cares?

We have finished our last 3 pre seasons with a game against Freo. Heavy loss, easy win, and then lost by a point yesterday. No real indicator of anything. Other than Hawthorn being doomed, obviously.

Bringing in Scully and Patton for pretty much nothing is also not the gamble that you are claiming it is.

draft picks wise they cost nothing, but they’re costing $1.1m in salary cap space. That’s a lot if they’re injured or under performing (as a result of their long term injuries)

With a shortened season of 17 games the pressure on younger players to carry their form over half a year is reduced, and the physical toll on older legs is also not as severe.

Officially, the first cast of COVID-19 was diagnosed on 1 December 2019. Trade week was way back in October. I'm not saying Clarko knew, but I'm not not saying it either.
