Cornes is just another talking head on the TV. Less credible than Caroline Wilson (who occasionally has some actual dirt). He should know a bit about footy as he was a premiership player, and had some ability too. However that doesn't translate into being interesting or relevant, so he's settled for being annoying to garner attention.
Cornes was an irritating player too, I recall him sledging our blokes after Port beat us in the H&A and giving our blokes the one finger salute, I think it was 2002. He should have fingered himself, we beat them in the finals later that year, and the next year as well.
I don't watch these people on the TV, I get better footy craic on this site (seriously even on Bay 13) or chatting to my friends and family than Talking Footy or any of that crap. I mean I can listen to Wayne Carey, even though he's annoying he's smart and doesn't just trot out bland truisms or provocative nonsense, he makes interesting observations and backs it up, and corrects himself when he gets it wrong too. Brereton is the same.
Sadly the ones worth listening too are sorely outnumbered and get teamed up with utter clowns like Kornes, or Wilson, or Robbo, or Gillon's phoney-arse little brother.
You've hit on one thing that I feel dirty admitting to: Wayne Carey is the bloke in the media most worth listening to.
