Not well. Besides being the strongest bid by a considerable margin with no fake accounts and inactives we failed one tiny criteria of not being 50% rookies or whatever it needs to be. That rule is probably the dumbest thing in existence as nothing is stopping all the listed Tangerines from just joining an existing team and rebranding it.

End of the day though you're just guessing how the Demons will be. Maybe some will get jaded from losing a premiership and post less. Maybe some will get weary from two cobbled together clubs with no rapport. Maybe there's an exodus already on the cards. Maybe some will just be over it.

This season I hoped to **** I got something out of a couple of new players, in the end not only did they do brilliantly but I also had the pleasure of Marlowe being a gun poster and most of the team turning up. It was unexpected, pleasantly. Nothing is certain in this place. Nobody would have expected the Rats and the Roys to go from top echelon to bottom levels in the posting stats.

Not only that, we're about to step into a second season in covid times. Who knows what we're facing?

I'm a bookmaker.

When setting a market, in a sphere like this, I'll make the informed judgement that past performance is the most reliable indicator I have of future performance.


To have them priced to finish as a Top 2 list next year, I couldn't get them much past even movney.

If I could get $3, I would hit it so hard it's not funny.

No, you're reading it wrong. I'm just putting up an example of a dramatic negative and long term result of what might happen if expansion happens and why people might veto it.

But to veto, according to how it is written, you have to BELIEVE IT WILL happen, not that it might happen.

To be fair, who is outwardly pro expansion?

The bids, sure. Bono. Bloodied. ND. That's about it? A couple of teams voted for but didn't give much more input. There's around 300 players in the league.

In all the talk of "the BC are against us" or "the committee is against us" where is the overwhelming support for expansion. IMO there's a bit of a con job going on that anybody bar a minority are asking for it.

Who is outwardly against? Three teams predominately have pushed against it in the Royals, Demons, Warriors (others have voted against in in committee however those votes were premature). I would almost say anybody with any passion for it would be arguing for so that chorus of voices you can't hear, that other 200 members of the Sweet FA are probably either against it or indifferent, neither a glaring reason to expand.

Kennedy Parker, Hate and myself have been fairly outspoken. The three of us have a fairly big thing in common when dealing with stuff like this, we've only been the admins for nearly ten seasons before Ant Bear took over. We've got a rough idea of the landscape of the league I would have thought. Not only are we veterans but we love this place enough we took on the most thankless role in the whole place.

If there was a huge outcry in the league in general for two teams doesn't it stand to reason that the bids would have collected more that 12 existing players? I think some of those players were near delisting from their current clubs. Just seems weird to me. I would have thought people would be smashing down the door for those new prime positions we keep getting told people are coveting.

For those that wonder our perspective, this is it. What are the reasons for expansion because they still haven't been answered in light of the above reasoning.

I don't think people believe clubs will start folding.

People are anti expansion, and are using the (poorly worded) veto.

I'm all for expansion at the right time.
We have teams in the league currently that struggle to have active posters at most times and looking at the bid threads with proposed franchises posters and activity, I still feel it isn't the right time.
