Review Negatives against Port (Maybe positives too)

Positives:
- Jones’ and Ryan’s effort and intent
- Kennedy’s return to form

Negatives:
- Cripps and Darling non-existent.
- Cripps soooo fumbly.
- Lack of ability to keep ball in forward half.
- Too many down the line play/bombs/hack kicks - when we got back into the game briefly it was through precision kicking.
- So unclean and fumbly - easy handballs missed.
Overall it’s effort and intent. There were times where players were looking at each other and saying are you going to go, or am I?

We have problems and something needs to be done about it. The spoilt brat attitude towards moving to the hub has seeped through, we lack resilience, effort, heart and intent.

JJ and Ah Chee and JK. Everyone else was average to poor. Darling was absolutely pathetic. Yeo was awful. Screenshot_20200627-140807_AFL.jpg
The butchering of the football was awful. The above just showed how many players were gifting the ball back. Same s**t different game. Terrible inside and outside bar 10 minutes.

Jones needs to be persisted with.
Didn't get monstered in the ruck with Nic off.
I thought there was more effort, in patches, than the last few games.
We had a great 7 minute purple patch.
Shep, Nat and Gaff lead the way in effort, which is sad.

Looking forward to watching a few neutral games at Optus.

Too many negatives to list

We weren't world beaters v Melbourne but that was a decent solid game by us.

So what happened since? It's like we partied on, that the season was completely done and then had to be dragged of the coach, kicking and screaming, to front up to a game.

Appears we just don't want to football. Not interested.
If we only start playing proper footy when we're back home it pretty much reinforces what we showed last year, that we drank our own bathwater after the 2018 flag and are only interested in playing when the going is easy.

It's exceptionally disappointing from a supposedly great club.

Lost count of how many time Yeo hack soccered it out of the centre and it went straight to a Port player

No wonder the lispy kent finished with 6 clangers, the most on the ground.

Get a load of this midfield gaiz 🚽

Redden : 12 touches, 2 contested, 0 clearances

Yeo : 18 touches, 8 contested, 6 clangers, 50%DE

Kelly : 18 touches, 10 contested, 4 clangers, 55%DE <----- Just going to remind everyone he cost us more than any other trade in AFL History.

Leaders really stood up today though :whitecheck:

Darling : 4 touches, 1 mark, 1 tackle, 3 clangers, 0.0., 0%DE

Schofield : 3 touches, 3 clangers.

And we were justified bringing Hickey in to give our mids first use though, that was a good call from Simpson 🤡

Hickey: 4 touches, 6 hitouts, 0 clearances, 45%TOG <------- Amazing :heavycheck:

the yeo soccer kick is actually becoming a problem, probably a symptom of the larger rot though, should be waves running in support to help him in those situations.

35 inside 50s today.

All those bagging our forwards it was slim pickings today down our forward end .

Midfielder just stood on their heels . No meaningful drive or rebound from our defenders so when we did get our inside 50s port were well set up behind the ball

To be fair, i think the onous was more on the half forwards who kept pushing up too quickly at centre bounces. Instructed to probably.

So many quick clearances we hit 20m straight to a Port half back. Several of Naitanui's hack clearances ended up the same way.

If Yeo hasn't got time for a clean clearance then fair enough, hack soccer kick is fine. It just so happens it failed literally ever... single... time this week.

Hurn looked terrible again. We need to try a new designated kick out person. The run and bomb to outside 50 against the boundary has been predictable for over 12 months.

I didnt even notice Cripps and had to check to make sure he was playing. Jones on the other hand showed a bit with out being spectacular. Looks more a footballer than Petch.

Darling crashed a couple of packs but had no impact. I'd bring in Waterman for him. Kennedy did enough to keep his spot.

And can we stop with the handball for the sake of handballing? We have been doing it for so long. You dont need to handball to someone just because they are there. Assess the situation.
