The prosecution has failed to prove high contact even occured, let alone that it was a closed fist with potential to cause injury. Footage doesnt back them either. Its embarrassing to the AFL to argue for suspension because player x flinchedI’d love to know the hit rate in general for teams appealing to the tribunal.
This has “we always give up late goals” or “we always play teams into form” written all over it - a baseless sentiment that every fan of every team seems to think applies to them.
The system is designed to cover their ass, they don’t want to consistently undermine the decision of the MRO.
It’s hard to get a result, bashing our defence on the highlights of one sentence in every 15 doesn’t get us anywhere. Best to sit back and just take the piss the whole time and cross fingers for a lucky result.
